Game Crashes

Thu Oct 17, 2013 6:45 pm

I have had several crashes at various points in game during battles. Now am getting crash while processing turn dec 62. While processing, game crashes to opening screen with no message. I can't get past dec '62.

I tried changing the LogBatch line as described in another post to no avail.

I notice that I have CW2 subdirectories in three places in file tree. C:games/civil war 2/CW2 seems to have the most info and files.

I have also had numerous Back-to-menu-screen crashes, where the only way to go was to quit.
Latest patch with latest RC. Win 7.
Will provide log next time it happens.

Me too. The latest, at the end of a batlle. I sent logs...and created a new campaign.

Can you please check if you have for example Gx_IronWorks.png in directory <game path>\CW2\Graphics\DynMapGraphics

because the patch should install these, but you don't have them.

Also, there is a crash that I would like to inspect, do you still have the current turn that crashed, or you continued your game? I would like the current turn and the 3 backups folder, they are all in the folder of the game which is crashing. If you can do a ZIP of these folders, that would allow me to check the bug.

I'm sorry people you are having trouble with the game. Don't hesitate to provide the logs files, as without we are shooting in the dark. Sorry again for the troubles.

Multiple cw2 subdirectories may point to improper patch install. Did the patch extraction directory path point to the right game folder?

I should still have the game that crashed as I could not get past dec 62. Will be glad to send it if I knew how to find the file and how to send it. Sorry, not very computer savvy! Please advise. As far as multiple occurences of CW2 sub directory, should I delete any? If so which? Thank you for your interest and any help you can give me.

I have also had numerous crashes. Have installed latest patch and I can only get to early 1862 before the game crashes. Please fix or at least tell me what to do. Very frustrated customer

when you get a crash, you need to put aside the mainlog file that is stored in the logs folder. Don't restart the game or the log will be deleted.

To help you find the logs, you can open the Options window in the main menu, there is the location of the Saves directory. The logs is at the same level in Windows explorer.
