Neat! It seems the biggest map so far in a SGS game?

I'd say no, because AK and Heia Safari maps are huge.

Hola! Yeay I will buy.
"The player will find in the game nice historial events that bring ‘chrome’ to the game and helps you to feel the historical moment represented.
The knowledge, experience and background of the designer of "España:1936" and "Battles for Spain", Miguel Santacruz, has been essential in creating and supporting the development of this game
We plan to also provide the players with interesting options to explore potential what-if situations."

Waiting for news here: https://avalon-digital.com/

Still hoping for a 3 players game (like RUS),

or a better political game; maybe that's done through the cards, or said options, like:
. what if republican allowed anarchists to take Saragoza (and so allow their democratic revolution in the north), instead of make them go in Majorque to provoke Italians (who did not need this as they had already decided to attack!) to try to involve England (and so France) in the war (despite England prefered Franco!),
. what if french Front Populaire was not colonialist (France actually threatened the already attacked spanish republic!): what if France allowed a "bourgeois revolution" in Maroc (popular chief was already in french jails), so it removes Regulares in spain legion, who were even more strategic than german and italian help in the south of Spain...

Delayed several times, listed as 50% of development done but available for Winter 2023? I'd say no.

Miguel (Leibst) comments that 450 land units are available for each side, how many were for España 1936?

Do you fellows know you can purchase the game now while under development? Then you can play, but you can also add to its development. It is coming along nicely. Oh, by the way, if you purchase pre-release you get a discount. Not a bad deal if you know you will buy as I did.

Yes, you are right, thanks Durk.

But in the meantime, as expected, now is delayed to summer 2024 :innocent:

I know it's nowaday marketing, but this show of republican fighting women, SGS'MADRID picture (and even on historical books!), despite non historical, is at least a very late honor... (women had fought in Majorca and wanted to still fight) :
Women had been politically massively insulted by the republican government (almost like nationalists did) and removed from all their fronts. There were actually always many women in anarchist columns, but almost none fighting women in republican army as soon 1937.

"Anarchist" Montseny, first woman minister in Spain, was the tree hidding the anti-women forest...
Federica was almost not allowed to do her government work, she was only given to do symbolic work: she could only open five offices for women (one for prostitutes, one for children, one for beaten, one to abort, ..) for whole Spain, despite anarchists had opened hundreds without the consent of republicans... (then commies will destroy all, no need of fascists for this)

Return to “España 1936”
