Question to Entrenchment level for CSA

Wed Oct 11, 2023 11:20 am

Hello,

I play as a CSA. In early April 1862 I was very surprised to read in scripted events window that 'CSA entrenchment level maximum is now 5'.
What does that mean? Are the CSA disadvantaged in the game, because until April 1862 there is no way to reach entrenchment level 5 or better?

Hello friend. In reality it is not a disadvantage for the CSA, what it means is to simulate/represent what happened in the real war. As the war progressed, and as technology, including weapons, improved, the battles became less "Napoleonic" and moved towards more trench battles, a prelude to the First World War. Mainly on the eastern front of the civil war. The improved trench levels are to represent this.

Indeed, the game is trying to simulate history, and so the maximum entrenchment level increases along the war, from 3 in the beginning of 1861 to 8 in late 1864. And so you will receive informative messages.

Of course it is the same for both sides.
