Sharpshooter

Fri Jan 07, 2022 11:19 pm

It is stated in many places that each division should have a Sharpshooter; yet is it correct that actually you just need 1 sharpshooter per stack rather than per division?

Also; I believe Elite Infantry has the same initiative as a Sharpshooter, does that mean if you have an Elite Infantry in a stack that you do not need the Sharpshooter?

Thank you!

The sharpshooter adds "+1 to initiative bonus in battle to the whole unit. This ability applies to all elements of the unit that this element is in."

Elements are single formations, typically regiments of infantry or batteries of artillery. Several of these may form larger Brigades, Divisions, Corps and Armies. These large formations are units. If you have a stack of loose elements under a Corps or Army commander, then one sharpshooter would apply the initiative bonus to all the stack. However, a stack consisting of Divisions or Brigades, i.e. units, would require a sharpshooter for each individual unit to gain the bonus throughout.

Only elements with the sharpshooter icon grant the initiative bonus.
