River defense

Thu Dec 05, 2019 5:54 am

Thinking about a post i did a while back about spliting up coastal artillary in the southern forts, I thought of another idea based on a situation im in at the moment. I have a Corps sitting on the west side of the Mississippi river just below Cairo. I moved some ships down towards Nashville (im playing Union this time) so i anticipated the southern river fleet to come and engage and i was sure that they were down south of the mississippi. Since I was in no real threat to be attacked I split my Corps into 3 divisions to bombard the fleet as it went by. Would it be better for 3 divisions to separately engage (if they can) than all 3 at once (as a Corps)? Maybe this has already been addressed but haven't seen it in the forums. What are your thoughts guys?

You would have more chances to do less damages and receive more ;)

Although there is a cap on how much damages you can deal or take, but still (and no, I don't remember the cap)
