Longer game

Tue Feb 09, 2016 12:30 am

Is there a way for a mod or patch to make the game longer?. Would this be easy for game developers to do in a future patch?. Maybe 3 turns per month, early/mid/late.

You can edit the number of turns per year. AFAIK, it will only accept a limited set of values, 24 and 48 being two that work. With 48 turns per year, you get four turns per month. However, editing the one value for turns per year doesn't change anything else, and you have to edit a number of other values to get the game to function as before, or at least close to it. I have been working on this for awhile, but I don't have a complete list yet.

As for a developer's patch, I highly doubt it. Most people seem to be content with 24 turns per year. From what I've seen of the game, a scenario and its associated events, models and other data will all have information relating to the turn rate. Since the scenarios sometimes use the same models, you can't change one scenario without affecting all of them.
