Hidden activation feature

Fri Feb 21, 2014 3:29 pm

Hi all,

I thought this new feature was implemented in the 1.03 patch, but, after having installed it, my generals remain showing their activation status. I have no BRS.

Is this feature planned instead for a future patch?

They always seem to be activated, but they won't all be in truth.

The feature works like this:
1) All your generals are active during turn orders
2) During turn resolution, some of them (based on their strategic rating) will become inactive - you never know which one. Simple as that :)

Sorry, but the question is that some of them appear inactive (just as it had always been); that´s reason why I think this new feature is not working in my current PBEM game. Could it be because we started this game with 1.02 and applied 1.03 afterwards?

That could be, as the option was not in the game at the time.

However, it could be new leaders showing up inactive by event.

To ask the obvious: You did change the slider in the game options, correct?

Sorry, I went out this weekend, but, really, I did not know it was needed to actívate a game option. So, yes, problema solved :bonk:

The hidden activation feature is, ironically, a little hidden.

Question: I read somewhere there is a hidden activation "Bonus" of some sort. Is that correct? Or did I read that wrong?

Or is the chance of activation pretty much the same as it was before, you just can't see it now?

Pretty much the same chance to be active.

I really like the sound of this new feature. Very interesting. I hope we might see the option in some, no all, the older games.

If you mean WIA, you are really a masochist! But so am I :bonk:

Can Athena play adequately with hidden activation? The tooltip makes it sound like she can't. Ace is using a workaround in his AAR giving her high Activation Bonus (AI Settings Screen) on the premise that she will be active often enough that it will only sometimes affect her. I am eagerly awaiting his report on this setting, and hoping it workst, since I play against the AI.

Can anyone else give any feedback on your experiences so far in how she plays under any setting? I want to try it on my next game, and am curious to know just how "sub-optimal" she is.
