Renaming Stacks

Sun Jul 10, 2016 12:52 am

Is there a way to rename stacks or armies? Also, if you rename a brigade or a regiment does it keep its unique name if I put it in a div. or army?

Stacks (including assigned corps) yes

Alt + Right Click will bring up a rename dialog

Armies yes

But what you have to do is .. remove the army command > rename the stack using Alt + Right Click > reapply the army command .. don't forget to reapply corps associations if you had them

Divisions, Brigades and Elements
cannot be renamed

Be aware, you may get a warning that disbanding the army will cost so-n-so much NM and VP damage, and the same for reinstating the army. In this case, those warnings my be ignored, because they are based on the assumption that during turn execution these actions will take place, but because the army commander is not actually changed, none of these 'checks' are actually carried out when you execute the turn.
