Combat Experience Gain for Generals.

Thu Nov 21, 2013 5:21 am

Playing as the CSA, I have noted on several occasions that after most of the battles that Generals do not receive any gain in experience(not talking about seniority). On some occasions these are very large battles involving over 20k on each side. I am curious as to what are the parameters for determining if a leader receives experience after a battle?

I have especially noticed this on defensive battles. Sometimes even when my force repulses and wins while defending a location there is no gain in experience for the officers commanding the force.

Also, to what benefit is it for your leaders/generals to have more combat experience? Does it factor in for the calculations for battle?

They do get an increase in their attack/defence stats but not the strategic one with experience. The rate though seems to be slow.
