Two Questions - Corps and supply

Mon Nov 04, 2013 3:53 pm

Does a corps out of an Army commander's influence range (shift key when army is selected) still benefit as a corp within this range?

When I use the supply map overlay (playing as CSA) I get green regions and red ones. The tool tip says this is where supply can 'pass'. Does this mean units in these regions (green) are supplied?

Thanks in advance for any comments!

1) The corps still exist (CP benefit) but no Army commander benefit to corps commander stats.

2) It is often the case, but green regions do not mean those units are supplied. It just means supply can go there, but it does not say have you enough supply and transportation to transport it there.

"but it does not say have you enough supply and transportation to transport it there. "

How would you determine that?

Look at the flashing depot nearest to your force. If it has enough supply, and if your supply wagons are full, you are allright.
Rule of thumb, supply can travel 5 regions from your depot by rail if you have enough rail transport capacity. If no rail is available, depot can supply 1-5 regions away from it. It depends on actual travel time it would take an abstract supply wagon to travel from the depot to your force.

Thanks for the reply but I am after a way to calculate if I will be ok or not. Is that possible or is it simply a guesstimate and no more than that is possible?

If you have enough transport capacity, if there is no more than 5 regions in between your depots due to enem burning them. If you are inside 5 regions from your depots, if you have wagons which can carry twice your troops can eat in a turn - you will not be short of GS.

If your force is surrounded - chain of depots broken, you can sum up supply production in nearby cities with the tooltip. If they produce mre than you spend, you are ok.

tooltip
158(+85)/21(+2) -

means city-depot has 158 gs, 21 ammo, produces 85 gs and 2 ammo.
If your force spends less than 85 GS/turn, you 'll never run short on gs, In the above example yi+ou might get short on ammo if there are intensive batttles, and this is your only source of ammo.
