China has no objections to an independent or Chinese Korea, and I don't mind if the US keeps what it has in Korea either.

Please run my diplomats script for January 1882.

As I forgot to apply for my diplos for July 1881 I took the liberty of inserting 4 diplos this time, instead of 2.

thx.

It appears that the gold mine problem is solved. There were just a few pieces of coal short in the stock wich didn#T fill up as I had an exeact balance. Thanks for all your heplful ideas.

When I started the turn processing it did not ask if I wanted to continue because not all orders were in, so I thought you had submitted orders. Now I see there is no Russian turn file. The game must have remembered the turn before when I ran it to take over France and Spain. I will have to process the turn tomorrow so that all country files are created. If you don't submit a turn I will create an ord file just so the game does not take over again. Then we should be fine going forward after that is done. Sorry this happened.

No problem. When I posted I did not saw the entire folder, I was referring to that. I have just seen the folder without the rus.trn.

Again, no big issue, will submit next turn.

Early January 1882. Hopefully will get the Russian turn file this time.

The game keeps crashing at the spot where it runs France's AI turn. I tried several adjustments will have to keep trying.

I put the logs into a Game Crash Logs folder on Dropbox. Hopefully someone who understands those things can look them and figure out what is wrong.

That's probably bad and only Pocus can fix it.

Try this.

I'm back.

Thanks to Sir Garnet for helping me along while I moved cities/jobs.

Sorry if I missed anything.

I will be able to submit turns, but will be busy with the new job, so am still willing to hand over the USA should a player come along that wants to take over more dutifully.

Ok, well it took two attempts and fixing the .hst file according to what Kensai described but it worked. I finally got the turn processed. Unfortunately, Late December was processed without orders for anyone. Hopefully, there wasn't anything really important that was required during that turn.

So....

Early January 1882

Due to the late hour, unless all the orders are in, I will hold off processing for a day.

It looks like most orders are in. I am going to process early since I will not be able to do it at the normal hour and I doubt everyone wants to wait another day.

Late January 1882

I was delayed in processing the turn, but the delay allowed the Ottoman and Italian orders to be included.

FYI, I will not be able to process the turn tomorrow. Who processed the turn when CitizenX's attempt caused problems... was it Jim-NC? It would be nice if some others would step up and help out.

I was the one who processed the turn with the ALT folder, but Citizen X thinks my processing caused the takeover of Colombia's economic structures in Turkey.

Took place in the same turn for no reason that I could see. Not sure if that was because you did the turn.

I'll try it. Think I'm properly set up to do so, we'll see how it turns out.

I (Britain) will be camping with the BSA, so my son will be filling in for the weekend. He will not be posting on the forum however.

Has anybody heard from soulstrider? He announced in the other thread that he wasn't playing anymore. Haven't received a word from him on how to proceed with Italy.

If nobody has heard anything then I personally would resolve the issues that need be addressed, together with the moderator and then set it on AI (or have lukasberger do the turns instead, because his Austria had extremely close ties with Italy before the shift of players occurred).

That could work. There are some issues with it the idea though. According to the peace terms after the Austro-Italian war, in exchange for the very generous terms, which included a return of Venezia to Italy and Austria's not taking Milano and Udine, even after Italy was completely beaten, fully occupied, with its army entirely destroyed, Italy is supposed to be a permanent Austrian ally with its diplomacy run through Wien anyway.

The problem with having the ai run Italy is that, the ai wouldn't recognize the treaty terms and if the ai failed to support Austria in a war or made its own ties that were viewed as detrimental to Austria then it might find itself in a war with Austria, without even knowing why or how that happened.

The problem with my doing the turns is that there would be no scope for Italy to follow any path other than than which was assigned to it by the peace terms with Austria. And if Austria was to go to war (highly unlikely at this point) and Italy obeyed its obligations, some people might object that I was simply using the Italians as cannon fodder.

So while I'd be very much against turning Italy to ai control, given the circs, I'm also not sure that it would be a great idea for me to control Italy too. So I'm not sure what the best solution is?
