Scenario remarks: AJE; the civil war

Playing the Civil War, my opponent (as Pompeii) managed to sneak back into Italy while Caesar was busy in Greece, and Marcus Anthonius in Spain. He managed to reclaim Rome. As a result......nothing happened. I think the designers didn't forsee this being possible. I expected a serious morale drop for Caesar, and a morale boost for Pompeii, maybe a major polulation support change...... It could be there is no event in case Pompii retakes Rome, it could be it nevver fired for some reason.

Another remark: After Pompey is killed (I played against the AI) I as the caesarians had the dipolmatic option to go to egypt; the option claimed Caesar would go with one named legion. I took the option and Caeser stood in Egypt with all his forces - that was four legions etc. - and the one named legion additionally. So all all the fun of Caesar being beleaguered in Egypt was gone: With five legions he was able to crush all egyptian resistance.

Thanks for spotting this. Fixed, and in the future Caesar will appear alone in Alexandria with Legio VI Ferrata

(Not sure if on time for next patch, though, as it's release is imminent)

Indeed by design there are no particular benefits of regaining Rome - besides the VP it gives and the cancelling of the "You not control Rome" Event, and the possibility of Pompeus staging a triumph...

Some NM gain could be added, indeed, and/or loyalty gain in Italia. To be discussed with the designers

Thanks for your report

In the beginning of 46 December I received a message that the Pacorus raids have ended and he has returned to Parthia. Yet he's still besieging Tarsus.

Edit: also what are the requirements (if there is such an event) for the second Pompeian insurrection in Hispania? I mean the one led by his sons and Labienus. Played through 45, but nothing happened.

2nd addition: could you please add the Caesarian legates Gaius Asinius Pollio (here's a good academic article about him: http://www.archive.org/stream/romanmanofletter00bleg/romanmanofletter00bleg_djvu.txt) and Gaius Caninius Rebilus? Especially after a few years I seem to be running out of generals as Caesar.

I'm afraid not, I ended up doing a complete re-install of the game.

Great!

I took a look through the event files, and didn't see any reference to the 45 revolt in Spain. Any chance of seeing it added, perhaps only if the Pompeian side is losing?

Currently Pompeius can't buy replacement chits for his Lusitanian cavalry.

I can be mistaken but It seems that Pompeius Lusitanian calvalry units are the ones that can be recruit by Options.

Are you talking about these ones or are they others in game ?

I'm pretty sure they became available for recruitment in the regular force pool after I chose one of the Hispanic mercenary options. But regardless of the original source, shouldn't there be reinforcement chits available?

Let me check with design team.

If we agree on it, it will be added in next patch.

Great! Any word on new Caesarian legates and/or the Pompeian resistance in Hispania in 45?

New Events to be introduced must be '' Signed Off'' and Script by the El Nino.

Let's wait he takes a look at this thread.
