If I recall correctly that means the unit is arleady on the map (Laid) but not fully finished yet.

I will try to reproduce it tonight.

Thank you. So, you mean no longer locked, but not yet up to full strength.

I have been looking for big L's. I am playing the Roman Civil War Caesar vs Pompeii (as Caesar). I have had plenty of units unlocked, but their stats still low. No big L's.

It's a mystery. But maybe Pocus just put it in there for just that reason. What fun is it programming without a few little inside jokes. :)

Okay, here is what I think.

The big green L means that you have reached the limit of the build capacity for the province.

Like I have 4 naval units being built in Syracusea to complete over the next four turns in sequence. I had cash to yet build more, but that province would not show green. So, it lets you know you are at the limit. However, this does raise the question why that particular unit.

Now, that I have a hypothesis, I have to be more observant and see if the last unit added that pushes you over the limit is the one that gets the "L".

Good catch.

I am going to redo some test too to validate your hypothesis.

From memory, it was to please PhilT, L means Laid and it was added for units past 50% but I'm not too sure there is an in game effect. Probably tied to an old wargame he liked :)

Pocus,

My warmest greetings!

I am so happy that I have found time to play AGE games.

I love the engine and what it models: supply, weather, campaigning season, fatigue ... I have finally invested enough time to be able to decode the battle reports.

I do think FOGE is brilliant too. But still it is not Rome, but a Roman sandbox. Sometimes, you just want to time travel as opposed to spend the day at Rome Disney. Thank you!
