Information about future of AJE on Matrix forums

Fri Feb 08, 2013 12:19 pm

Iam McNeil has shared some information about the future of AJE on Matrix forums:

At the moment that is the way it works yes, but we're going to see if there is anything we can do.

However there are no small DLC's planned at this stage, just larger expansions so the point is probably moot.

I guess no one expected the AJE series NOT to continue but I think it is still great to have basically a confirmation of new big expansions. Assuming that they have the same content of AJE/BOR what do you think would be possible candidates? :coeurs:

Something involving weird ponies and perfumed sticks of wood?

I'm Honesty just gonna wait for the inevitable Second Punic War expansion. That is all I'm really interested in.

To me, the game seems perfect for a Diadochi expansion pack.

+10000

A 2nd punic war scenario would be very similar to the BoR game, a diadochi one would be more valueble for players, i think.

Not until they find time to extend the map slightly eastward IMHO, to give a little maneuver room for the Seleucids...

Hey, we *do* need Hannibal in this game. That was an epic conflict, epic.

Really? First punic war is not at all similar except the fact the belligerent states are the same. There would be massive fighting in Spain, Macedonia, Sicily, Italia and most importantly of all, Hannibal and Scipio Africanus. Naval Combat wasn't that important in the 2nd punic war.

While that's one of the 'biggies' well worth waiting for there are absolute craploads of possible events from the times that would make awesome scenarios. Uprisings in Britannia, barbarians crossing the rhine and danube, the eastern empire's invasion of Italy, goths and vandals making a mess, the fall of Rome, the Sassanid's, Ceasar's campaigns and about a few hundred civil wars spring to mind. And hey, since the last dlc/standalone expansion only covered the 'birth' or Rome I think we might be looking forward to quite some goodness.

But hey, who doesn't want to cross the alps? ;)
