---> AJE on Steam greenlight! <---

Fri Aug 31, 2012 5:33 pm

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93111493

It has been done!

Now, as you may know, Steam is THE major digital platform that nobody should miss... So even if you plan to acquire the game on our site, or if you already did that, if you want to support us, then by all mean don't hesitate to vote for the acceptance of Alea Jacta Est on Steam.

This will help us tremendously (yes, superlatives everywhere, hehe, but that's important, and this is an understatement) keeping our independence and style of gameplay.

If we purchased the base game from you, would DLC purchased on steam (when it comes out eventually) be compatible with the base game from your store? Or how would that work?

Why do you need to go on greenlight ? You are a professional studio and there already have a lot of good or bad independant (or not) games on Steam.

Because, as mentionned earlier, Steam won't consider Indie studio that easily (for lots of reason, probably not ill will, may be just lack of time)... so getting official support from the crowd of clients is the best way to turn their attention on

If we are on Steam, will do our best to make all future DLC compatible.

Voted and commented! Steam Greenlight seems like an excellent way to get games on Steam that might not otherwise end up there; hopefully it helps you guys!

I'm all for options, so if Steam helps you guys get more exposure (and sales) then great.

But, I'm not a fan of Steam at all, and I hope you guys continue to offer products independent of Digital content networks. Choosing Steam is fine, having major publishers putting out games ONLY on Steam drives me nuts. Bottle-necking industries is never a good idea.

I agree. I'll give my vote, but I assume that if I acquire the game from ageods' site, I won't need steam to run it.

I'd prefer Gamersgate. More platforms means more players, and more money to the developers in order to be in exitence and to continue making these wonderful games. The more the merrier.

I prefer GG to Steam as well, but I'm sure AJE will be sold on multiple online distribution sites. Steam is used by a large percentage of gamers, so being able to offer the game there (in addition to other sites) would be a great benefit.

It does not commit you in buying at Steam, that's just that if you have a Steam account, you can vote for us. Being accepted will be beneficial for us :)

Lol, "Steam is THE major digital platform that nobody should miss", absolute monopoly meaning independance. Yes, independance for big Gabbe.
Don't surviving make up your mind or tell us propaganda for your next master. I know corruption is easy (I may be if I were you), beware about what you do and tell.
I'm a pc gamer and I spit on Steam.

I understand you. I had already bought it from Ageod's website. Unfortunately I haven't any Steam account, but GG.

I would. I really would. But, I need to request my password for the forum and Steam's asinine verification system is worthless. I just tried 20 times to type the two words and didn't get it right one time.

Not every fellow forumite visits every thread in the forum, hence many may miss this thread of particular importance.

How about spreading the word by putting an instruction and the link to Alea jacta est's greenlight page in our signatures? (Make it red and flashy - or even glittering! :niark: )

PS. Not only in this forum - in all the forums we attend! Yay!

Okay, I left a positive comment and vote. Now, as payment, I expect AGEOD to produce a game based on Ancient Greece.
