I don't thinK. look into the 1.02b offcial thread. Some restrictions have been introduced for rail destruction for gameplay sake.

I restarted with "liberals" fix (I know it is compatible though), and now they destroy railroads. Maybe just bad luck, I don't know.

In the new version, AIs seems indeed more active during winter. I hope Balt and Poles events to work right but in november 18, RED AI has smashed a green revolt, and kept Siberians around Samara, the latter having captured Perm in October though. :)

Here a new quickfix, for several events. Unzip in the same folder as for installation and run the exe. Don't forget to verify if the path is right. Compatible with ongoing games.

Going good so far. You have to balance the requisitions between turns to build up a sizeable force. So, you don't just use Spec Ops on one turn and leave it, you keep it going for a period over several turns so you have a continual growth of money and conscripts. Cheka too. The whole game needs a wiki on it, or at least a strategy guide.

Exactly. :)

As Reds, you will have to select your hardened units by first battles to regroup them in a central reserve you will concentrate on one front. In the same time, part of your new levies will be on the rear, facing Greens and secondary fronts.

I am going towards building up stacks with the various Fronts at the moment. Garrisons everywhere, and crushing green revolts ASAP. You keep requisitioning at all times, you have continual WSU, conscripts and money. Every turn. Otherwise, with the stacked Siberians and more importantly with the green *menace*, you are not going to win. The problem is good leaders, mainly 2-0-0 and they are crap. Reds are hindered in this area. Cannot get rid of the penalty.

That's why you need to concentrate your best units with your best leaders. This vision of Red leaders isn't mine, as I've kept untouched leader values of the official version, but I support it entirely, as both historical and balancing Red mass. Now, maybe Siberian Whites have too much good leaders

At least, I will write some strategy advices for FY in the future by collecting first some parts of this thread. For the official game, no doubt it should be done something....

Incidently, discussions about strategy in AGEOD games were high for BOA 1 and AACW, and have slowly but steadily rarefied for the next games....Always a good sign when players are discussing strategy in a wargame, no? :D

To play Fatal Years with the 1.03 version, just unzip the official hotfix ( http://www.ageod-forum.com/showpost.php?p=211270&postcount=1 ) in the Revolution under Siege mod directory. :)

Of course, you may too update first to 1.03 then apply Fatal Years install files.

From the very first run, FY AIs remains in very good shape. AAR soon. :)

I've done a few turns with a saved game, yes. But I can't assure a full compatibility, only SEPRUS could state about.

I've one bad and four good news :)

-the bad: after a few more turns I ran into problems with my saved game. So it's best to install official 1.03 patch, its hotfix, then FY and start a new game.

The good:

- FY is compatible with 1.03 version.
- AI doesn't suffer from the passage to the 1.03 official version.
- FY is almost done. Red declaration of war on Balts is working, Siberian early choice too. There are some strings maybe lacking, a few minor balancing changes here and there, some AI work in Turkestan theater, and maybe some options not fully tested, but the mass of points remaining to check and redraw is now very small.
- so I will aplly next week the same changes to AACW, now the AI stuff is ready to be adapted to another game.

You get a debugged exe. For the rest, my mod is almost unchanged, to the exception of a few details. You may indeed switch to 1.03 after having achieved your current game, if you want to play again of course :)
