Icon for Rubles is Dollar one ($). Maybe it should be swaped for uncommon Roubles??:
'Py6' symbol, is near cyrillic fonts, trying to copy official.
I made a try (nothing is to be DL here) with:
Tahoma, Bold, 8 (6 should be fine, and back transparency is missing).
These are the 3 png mb_assetbtn_oxx0 files in \RUS\Graphics\FrontEnd\Top Left Panel\Assets

Or maybe just a 'Rub' symbol?, without trying to copy cyrillic.

Not sure if that would improve the game. The dollar sign is universally recognized as a sign for money, whereas the ruble sign is not as widely known. If the first is replaced by the second, those who just started learning about the game may have trouble finding where is their amount of money shown on hand shown.

Yes. The better, for both recognition and russian, may be a drawing of some bills.

Edit: This bill should be an Imperial Russia last year issue for occupied Finland, not a Soviet bill.

I heard about these. I believe this is an example of the currency the Communists issued in 1918.

Above bill was an Imperial in the end, so the bill should be better this kind:
EDIT: I removed the bill, as this old picture is said property.
It won't be easy to make it fit as a comprehensible money icon.

. I think it's better to try with the 'grey' background, on the white the difference is easy.
. Italic is a good idea to make it more russian,
but true cyrillic should be possible for a final version (if Py6 is kept).
. The dollar is not easily placed, if kept: $ Py6 $ ?
. On a bill, fonts should be smaller and not bolded
. I prefer your nb 1.
. The original picture of this old bill is said property(!?) (I removed the original picture for I had not ask), so we must not be shy about duffing, if necessary, the bill icon.

I think I like what you have here ($ Py6 $) the best!... the bill pixelates quite a bit anyway.

LOL, I ran into a possible copyright issue on a nice 'Spatacus' mod I was working on for AJE. I just abandoned it. sigh!

If we keep the $, then the best is the most simple: the vanilia game icon!.: mod not needed.
Without $ (at first it was my goal), I wanted to try your nb 1, but with:
. a smaller bill (let 2 pixels free on top, and 1 free on botom; the others icon don't take all the place),
. not bolded, and smaller, true cyrillic fonts
but I even didn't succeed in making the bill as beautiful as yours (and didn't find cyrillic in Gimp).
I think this red/tan/foxed style of color is the best for the Ruble Soviet bill.
I tried with black&white one, but the Py6 is no longer lisible on.

... Maybe the devs already said and tried all that...

I almost made what said in past post, but I kept the bold, and 'true cyrillic' is not needed for it's rather the same (and exactly at this scale).

Here's another try... Ruble symbol with 'generic stack of money'.... I hate to lose the 'actual' Ruble image but I think this fits with the other black icons...

If you find a good stack, Pyb is no longer needed (that's why I had put a barely readable one). But your stack rather seem a cake lol (mille-feuille/napoleon)
I find black&white version of mine is maybe more fitting than my previous tan(orange?) one, but less nice:

Thank you. But not me lol. Maybe the bill is too realistic beside the other icons. I think again a higher contrast is needed.

An experienced artist should immediatly find how to do it right. Maybe some shadow is missing.
I cheated: the center where Py6 is (some pixels arround), is exactly the same than before, as I think the Py6 is right.

We're surely wrong with the black: it should be some dark brown. It is to be tried by picking the color on other symbol.

Jack, could you link your colored bill icon file from your post #7 (I can't make it as neat than yours, maybe for yours is few pixels bigger). I want to try with, putting my small Py6 on, and too a light shadow/border arround (or on, as there seem no pixel free) your bill. Or you can do it, I won't be jealous

I took the F9 icons, down to 75%. I sized down your bill too, but I didn't succeed in making the border shadow. I forgot 'Py6', it is not necessary but should be nicer if well written.

Yeay, but not enough: gun and train should be colored too.
And it's braking the game, as lines appear corrupting the interface.
I may see about this in some times, I had IRL heavy duty.

Corrupting lines are gone.
Some shadow is missing arround the bill
Gun should be: brown wheel, dark metal for gun, other things light wood
Armored train should be light khaki
I didn't succeed yet
