game crashes on start up

Thu Dec 23, 2010 1:36 am

every time i try to start up the game an error message comes up right before the main menu loads. The error reads.

"DirectX to renderers invalid call (Burst Mode) [Prep'ing Thing MainMenuBack.png] Would u like to terminate the application?....

The game crashes right after this. does anyone know how to fix this. I really want to play the game.

No it is not a DirectX problem. I have latest DX9 installed under XPSP3 , no DX10 and still getting this error after starting the game . Probably, video driver problem ?

I'm sorry to resurrect this topic but the same thing happens to me and I have the latest DirectX and I have even tried the XP compatibility mode (I have Vista).

Any idea??

Same message as OP?
Try installing on another drive than C:
It is better to be on admin mode
if this all fail, unplug the internet, disable your anti virus and retry.. Don't forget to reboot after your test.
