Hello everyone!
One of my present creative projects is documenting the 1917 Bolshevik (October) Revolution as it happened, from November 7 (OS October 25) to today, as social media posts on X (formerly Twitter). I'm following events day-by-day not just in Moscow and Petrograd but also in Ukraine, Baku, Central Asia, etc. If there is sufficient interest, I plan to keep it going with the Russian Civil War and make it a multi-year project.
As of now, the Bolsheviks have survived the counterrevolution in Moscow and Petrograd but face stiff opposition (including within their ranks!) to the prospect of not sharing power with the other socialist parties. The White movement is starting to form around Kaledin. The supreme commander of the Russian army has just been replaced with a Bolshevik warrant officer. And the Allied Powers are gambling that the Bolsheviks and their pleas for peace won't last.
