Does this sound right?

Sun May 23, 2010 2:43 am

I am playing a Grand Campaign, patch 1.03, Austrian side.

I got a French brigade called Chevasseurs de Fischer.

This one started out with a power of 5600 or so. By the end of the campaign, his "power" and I know it is a general representation that does not completely tell his power, but his "power" was 16650. He only has a few elements. He is a single detached force.

I looked at the numbers and the units had a cohesion of 1083 or so over a 10K number.

Compared to corps that can go from 1000 to 3000 as a very high, that seems a little off.

Something is definitely screwy with it. I had it attack a corps of the enemy that had about 6,000 men in it and he beat it.

How do you do that? I have looked in the folders and I don't see the saved files?

I don't know if you can tell but I played it on the easiest settings. I was getting frustrated getting beat so badly!

Could you check from my game if the supply issue through Poland is working correctly?

I'm pretty sure that I am. 1.03, correct? I might be wrong, because I am not an expert on the supply thing. I thought I'd ask, though. The Russians ran out of supply and it seemed like a supply wasteland even with depots. :(

Your unit is made of cavalry having 325 millions of XP each. I'm unsure what could have done that, really. have you started the game in 1.02 and then moved to 1.03?

Unless this problem is reproducible (i.e you have a save where it is not yet here and then the following turn, it is), I can't know what happened to your unit. You can always send me your full saved game (zip it, my mailbox accepts up to 24 MB per mail, which is enough for that) and send the file to pmalacher@age-studio.com. I'll see if this can be traced.

For the supply thing, this is the display that was incorrect in beta 1.03 but the actual algorithm should be able to move supply through Polish territory. If not I'll double check with a save.

You have mail: gaining a replacement in WIA with the pre-beta 1.08 engine did same thing to a unit!

I will send you the zip file. I didn't start it in 1.02 and then convert it. I have no prior saved games. I deleted them through the game menu because it was taking so long to load a game. I had a few CTDs and when I went to load the last saves, it was taking forever to display the saved games, so I deleted all saves but a few.

Are you saying that you think my display on my screenshot is from 1.02? I'm pretty sure that I started the game under 1.03. I'm not 100% sure, though, so if you say it is 1.02, I'll believe you. :)

There are also several reports of overpowered units, which also
seem to have ridiculous amounts of XP in the AACW forum for
the public beta of the latest patch

AACW (public beta) code patch 1.16
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=17600

It seems there that brigades which are created without the full number of
elements can then have the extra elements added with very silly experience values
i.e millions of XP

I will post a save of my AACW version of this problem over in the AACW
forum.

EDIT: Actually I will email it to Pocus as the files are very big

How much do you want for that cavalry unit? I could use it against Squarian...

Yeah, I remembered more about it. Of course, it came from France off map and when it sholwed up is was a stregth of 445 or so. I thought, Hmmm, a little high, but it is possible I suppose? I'm not that much of an expert yet, but it kept getting more pwerful and topped out for me because the game ended at 17,773.
