Ok I can't find anything in the manual on redoubts nor anything with a search. What exactly are the defensive benefits of a redoubt?

Well, I guess God only knows the defensive benefits of a redoubt. However I have noticed they allow accumulation of supplies which is always useful.

So I am laughing at your reply to yourself for this reason. When I first came to this forum a lot of inquiries were not answered. It is better now, but still sometimes you feel like you are speaking into the abyss.
Yes, accumulation of supplies and an additional entrenchment. Not much, but something.

Thanks Durk! I haven't been building them but the AI is building them all over the place along with circumvellations.

I build redoubts on strategic locations and to create shorter supply lines.

Same here. I am finding them very useful as small supply points. In particular in remote areas with very little inherent supply.

And I think they help against the effects of winter.
