Help - Supply issue

Fri Nov 26, 2010 3:23 pm

Played multiplayer campaign as Coalition up till turn 64 and after some frustrating supply issues and battles I asked my opponent to stop the game until I find how to play coalition or at least handle the game.

Some screenshots from the game to show what problems I have:

I could understand how it happened in Silesia (snow closed mountain passes and supply line was cut off. That should explain way no supply received, but why city do not produce any supply?), but have no idea what happened in Hanover territory.

Additionally, looks like, that in the all cities/fortresses conquered few turns ago no supply is received or produced.

Is it a bug, or I missing something?
Does anybody have same or similar problem in PBEM game?

P.S. and one very strange battle (Swedes had defense stance)…. Just for fun

I can confirm. I capture Olmuts 5 or 6 turns ago. Frederick's troops could not get supply from level 4 city,level3 fort and level 3 depot. City should produce some supply by itself but it looks like it doesn't. So I need to move Freederick to North which is very dangerous in winter.

It could be that your army was eating more than Olmutz could produce (so no stockpiles) and no supplies were possible to be transported to Frederik from sillesia.

Some turns later..
There is only a brigade and 2 line inf in the fortress. Still didnt recover fully. There is indeed a production but too low.

Edit: MC needed for supply transportation but City or Fort produce very few by itself even reason behind is to prevent deep raids or offensive to capital. Better to conquer Forts one by one for supply distribution :)

Confirmation?

Conquering one city/fort after another looks suicidal because of slow supply acquisition. Is it the way that ROP designed?

If yes, than general recommendation should be:
When you conquer city/fort in ROP, you have to retreat all (or almost all) forces back to the well supplied city/fort, to allow conquered city/fort to receive and stockpile supply.

Is it correct conclusion?

P.S. Is there a way to unload supply from supply wagons?

Actually you can get supply as you maintain MC between your supply producing city and conquered city. In Above screenshot I got supply when I secure the road between Katowice and Olmutz. But interesting part is When I conquered above city "Trappau" I think, The supply didnt transport or send enough to Olmutz,it needed time. But when I secured the road Olmustz with far away Dresden, supply suddenly become abundant even the distance was very far.
But Supply production for isolated city or fort is very low.but it is WAD.
Loyalty is also a factor for supply production, but is it also a factor for distribition? I dont know. But supply rule is working well.

Had MC for 3-4 (maybe more) turns and armies had supply wagons. Did not received supply in Minden.
Before, I did not had supply problems in Munster (on screen) and Kassel.

Maybe, to prevent player's Blitz, there is some kind of supply delivery efficiency parameter, which is depending on distance to closest friendly city/capital (distance diminish supply efficiency value)?

In the above screenshot you have no depot in Minden, so no supply is being stockpiled there.
All the supply that is coming from Munster and being produced by Minden is being used by all the French armies in the area. Their supply wagons are drawing the supply from Minden so it isn't building up there.
