Hi folks,
I have 8 Matrix games so far and they all run great on my Vista 32 system, I even downloaded the demo version of this before I bought it and it also worked fine, But now I get a stupid error message cannot find compatible Direct 3d and it even says that my serial key is invalid, that can't be I downloaded it from matrix with physical shipment included, anyone with similar problems? by the way I just downloaded the latest update this morning 1.06A.
please note this post is out off sink my original problem was Direct 3 D error message?

Does it occur when you launch the game?

It seems the game does not find a file, probably removed??

Be sure the following files are in the game folder:

Serial.ini
WW1.ini

And that they are not read-only, or locked.

So you installed the WW1 full version over the Demo version, right?
Be sure there's only one instance of WW1 game, not two in two separate folders, otherwise you are probably doing a mess... that's to say you are trying to launch the demo version (expired) whereas the full version is instead in another folder...

Probably it's better you uninstall (all instances) of WW1, and do a fresh installation from zero. ;)

Hi Calvinus,
I will try to see if I can find the files, Would it help if I uninstalled and then reinstalled?

I'm now getting the original message, direct3d error message. checked my files and there were duplicate versions of the program installed one in the matrix games folder!

Hi Calvinus,
I will try uninstalling and the reinstall the game but I will check all my folders before I reinstall in case there are any orphaned files left behind!

When I click to run the game this message still appears, could not find any compatible Direct 3d this sample will now exit! I have uninstalled completely, done a registery check ,disabled Vista account control program, re downloaded the software from matrix, and reinstalled but still the same message appears?

I have other programs that run Direct 3D ON MY SYSTEM NO PROBLEMS,so why can't this software find it? :(

Surely a problem from Matrix. I suggest you to inform them... ;)

Hi Calvinus,
I'm so glad the game is working now,I have informed Matrix regarding this issue!

May I also say that I think the new manual supplied with update 1.06A looks superb. Thankyou for an excellent game. :)
