What is the situation of the game currently?

Hello!
For a long time i am looking for a WWI game and finally i think i found one. This game seems very good, but i saw some posts about FPS problems from people who has a similar system to me. Here my system: AMD Athlon II™ X4 620 2.61 Ghz 3600 Mhz, 4 GB DDR2 800 Mhz, ATI HD4650 1024 Mb, 1440x900 resolution Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium.

My system is enough to run Paradox games and Rise of Prussia but as it is Windows 7 i am a bit worried for WWI gold. Any information would be appreciated.

Also is there any hope for me to see this game on Steam? I think Ageod would do a good job if he release his games on Steam, only Pride of Nations and Rise of Prussia are avaible.

Having 2.00 GHz or above is the key to having the game play with minimual FPS problems.

I´m playing it on an Acer Aspire Netbook, 1.6 Ghz and 2GB Ram.......

with 5 Fps.....

Ok, it´s pain in the ass........

But, it´s so much fun, that it doesn´t matter, hehe.

Cannot comment regarding Win7 and WW1G but for what it's worth, as a game that satisfactorily covers most aspects of La Grande Guerre, you probably cannot do better. I looked very hard at Guns of August before settling on WW1G for a variety of reasons.

Peruse these forums and you will find outstanding issues but many have been addressed in both patches and user mods. One can tweak their own game endlessly (including saved games) with the only proviso being PBEM games require identical game files.

There are outstanding issues of course, these exist in all commercial games. I'm running WinXP on a system similar to that of the OP and often cannot run more than two-consecutive turns without the game crashing or locking up but this seems unique to my particular setup. The superb game play and variety in WW1G keeps the game fresh and me coming back for more.

WW1G has earned some haters to be sure but like a cat that irritates you by raids on your sock drawer and leaving dead animals on your porch, one can enjoy it in spite of its faults.

If you are interested in WW1 and can afford La Grande Guerre, it's definitely worthy of a place on your hard drive.

I do echo the others, it is the best WW1 simulation out there, by far.

Regarding Windows 7: you can make sure to avoid any problems if you turn UAC (User Access Control) off. It may collide with the game.
