fade in, fade out

Sat Sep 04, 2010 1:52 am

When I click on an army, the unit icon and the areas around it fade from light to dark, then back to light, and on and on in a slow cycle. Is there a setting to stop that?

Not by mod, sorry. :(

I like it but the lighter part is difficult to differentiate from the regular terrain.

I often have to de-select and reselect until the darker (or the faster change) coloration comes up so I can see approximately how far a unit can move that turn.

Perhaps a future patch could make this fade feature an option? Just a thought.

I do this quite often myself. Sometimes I can easily see how far a stack can travel the first time I click on the stack. Other times I do as you do and de-select/re-select.

I don't mind having to do this though.

I just see no point in the fade. It doesn't enhance anything and is just an annoyance, albeit a minor one. I would prefer to be able to turn this feature off.

My preference would be the other way round to you GWG.

I can't see the map when it's dark and would prefer a bright unblinking highlight of the accessible areas.

That's essentially what I've been trying to say. Actually, the highlight already exists, and is clearly visible on my system after I lightened the map tiles. No change would be necessary really other than giving the option to turn off the fade to dark, and fade back cycle.

I'd prefer a notably faster fade in and out so I can quickly see where to move, but also see the terrain at the same time.

My biggest problem is that the fade doesn't change fast enough and I have to click/unclick to force it to change faster.

I find the fading in and out to be very annoying and join in asking for an early patch that will make this an option.
