PON is very playable, and most enjoyable after the latest patch.

I am really getting tired of the sadism of those vikings.

We have been waiting so long for this, the delay is really ticking me off!

I do not blame the Philippes. But those vikings are completely at fault.

It seems that uses the paradox engine. The feautures look really interesting, but aesthetically it´s a setp back; to me all paradox games look really bad, especially the maps (yes, I know that at the end this is not important, but the quality standards of ageod were higher than this)

Yes, looks like Paradox NCP 1, not AGEod NCP 2...

The map is definitive?

Sounds great!
I did not play the first game though, as it had no Grand Campaign. I never play scenarios, they are too short for my tasting. Still, the era is very interesting!

And regarding the looks: So true. I played close to all Paradox strategy titles, but the maps are getting worse instead of better (eg. EUI towards EUIII). In my opinion they use too many dark colors, everything looks quite muddy. Ageod's maps are much more appealing.

Any news on the second project? A Punic War setting sounds even more fantastic :)

I agree completely. For Ageod fans it is a step back in two areas:

First, beautiful, hand drawn, maps are Ageod trade mark. For me, they are important immersion factor. Also, it seems armies will be represented by generic 3D soldier figures. I don't like them. At least, please give us option to use scalable NATO symbols like in HoI3.

Second, I never liked real-time mechanics of Paradox games. I wonder how this will impact people who are preferring to play PBEM game?

I think it is too soon for the map to say that this is a final map, there is no fortresses, it looks like a Situation Map or Strategic map.
The game is for end 2012 and Philthib once indicated that it would be the same map that NCP had to offer with the known issues corrected thus...
Wait and see...

It says Q4 2012...so it'll be out for Xmas I take it...The final product could be a dozen things, don't bash it yet guys.

I hope the map and the unit cards are not the final product. I think Ageod makes the most beautiful maps in the wargaming industry and I also very much like the Ageod style of unit cards and information. Frankly the map in the screenshot in the Paradox release news are horrid. Paradox maps are bland, boring, uninspiring, etc...

Sorry about the vent gents, but I hope the gameplay will make up for the IMHO horrible aestetical choices regarding the map and unit cards.

EDIT: It also looks like this maybe real time. For the love of God say that at least that is not true.

It looks like mix ... multiplayer only PBEM = it will be not real time paradox strategy, but turn based, correct?

Hmm, may be not ... the button one the top right corner is typical Paradox for real time timing ... + pause on one screenshot

True, though the map looks like the typical Paradox maps and they hardly ever change. This would be a pity, but surely does not stop the game from being good.

I don't think this is the case if it is an EU based engine as it looks. EU games are MP too, but remain real time.

What about AGEOD's ATHENA WEGO engine ? What about our lovely games, from BOA, AACW to ROP/RUS ?

Can we keep hope for new ATHENA games about, by exemple, The Boers war in south Africa, or the seven years war on a planet map, from America to India through Europe (Wars in America + Rise of Prussia ) ?

So, AGEOD is definitivly dead, eaten by Paradox or not ??? :(
