PBEM issues (as usual)

Sun Sep 09, 2018 10:42 pm

I'm used to convoluted pbem issues with this game system, game by game, but have hit the wall with BoA2 since the WIA patch was installed. We've tried regular and dual hosting to no avail. Anyone have any advice?

What kind of issues? Like Citizen X I have not found problems with pbem, but if you can be a bit more specific, maybe some thoughts will come to mind.

Well that helps. We're likely just mucking up with files and directories. I'll keep at it.
We're starting the 1755 campaign scenario (#8).

For shared hosting, just send everything including your own replay file.

That may be it thanks. I've been sending everything but the replay files. I'll advise.

It is a really weird and non-intuitive solution, but such is the nature of things.

Non-intuitive is the phrase that sums it up. They do such a brilliant job with historical research for these gems, I guess they have to muck it up somewhere. But really, an easy universal game to game pbem set-up would bring far more people in other than us grognards. ;)
