Can you recommend a good military strategy book on the American Revolutionary War?

How the North Won by Hattaway & Jones is an excellent book on the military strategy of the North for winning the Civil War. Can you recommend a good military strategy book on the American Revolutionary War? I've not been able to find a good book that covers either the American or British strategy like the Hattaway book.

Thanks for your help!

Hi!

I've searched aroudn for a background book for WIA and was very near to buy John Ferling "Almost a Miracle" which has great reviews
http://www.amazon.com/Almost-Miracle-American-Victory-Independence/dp/0195382927/ref=pd_sim_b_5

But by chance found a second hand copy of "Rebels and redcoats" by Scheer & Rankin
http://www.amazon.com/Rebels-Redcoats-American-Revolution-Paperback/dp/0306803070/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1242313689&sr=1-1
on a used books shop in Madrid  just for 4 euros
Couldn't say no! :D
I have only read some fragments of it still, but i really liked it.
It's heavy on first hand accounts from both sides and all levels (for generals to soldiers) that are interwoven with a excellent narrative of the war.
It has good maps and lengthy and lively descriptions of the battles.
Maybe its not very "scholar" like but its very readable and detailed. :)

Cheers

Hey there rwenstrup!

A book that I found to be quite interesting (and happened to be a great read as well), is "Battles of the Revolutionary War - 1775-1781" by W.J. Wood. It is part of the Major Battles and Campaigns Series (which was edited by John S. D. Eisenhower). There is a bit of bias, here and there, toward the American side -- the British are sometimes show in a less than flattering way -- but that does not detract from this book at all. It does an admirable job of describing (from both sides) some of the most important battles and campaigns. You can find it at Amazon.com where they have several used copies in both hardcover and paperback for as low as $3.47 US. Hope this helps!
