What's Happened to the AI in 1.10b?

Wed Sep 19, 2012 12:26 am

Pardon me for saying, but the AI seems to have been "dumbed down" in this latest patch. I started the "Whites of Their Eyes" campaign, and in early 1776 the Americans are dominating. I took the mighty Continental Army into an assault on Gage's British force at Boston in October 1775, made them retreat into Dorchester, and proceeded to chase the survivors over New England until I wiped them out. My national morale level is 108, and the Brits are at 85 in March 1776. Maybe I just got lucky, but this is much different than my previous FIW Colonial campaign. I'm not going to continue, as it seems too easy. BTW, I'm using exactly the same game settings as I did in my previous completed game, which lasted until March 1763. I know I haven't improved that much in my game play, so something seems "off".

The only thing different is the proper activation of the AI Winter Quarters algorithms [a data error had never switched them on!!]

Please keep at it and see if the AI "perks up" in summer....

...it's the same AI as in RUS and RoP, and latest game engines I'm testing have Athena whuppin me!

...as did Hobbes Natives in King Phillips War!
Always ask yourself: "Am I part of the Solution?" If you aren't, then you are part of the Problem!

Ok, Lodilefty, what I'll do is restart a FIW Colonial Campaign and see how that plays out.

Return to “BoA2: Wars in America”
