Mhm... this is a problem indeed.

I've just sent a mail to all campaigners to inform them and ask for opinions.

Just a question.
When do we start the new turn? :)

I was kinda wondering that myself. Been odd at work with our contract coming up for renewal and the prospects of that not looking good, so I hadn't noticed until I was archiving my old e-mail today.

I have not received any turn from any side...

I guess people were too busy playing NCP! :indien:

I think the Union turn is in the hands of our c-in-c (right?).

Know that there are chances that the Xmas patch won't be compatible with current games.

I believe the CSA is waiting on the Western Commander

According to my campaign e-mails, we had the issue with the CSA west orders going to the wrong place, then nothing, but the USA orders had been submitted.

That turn was executed, we had the Western Commander quit over it and the new Western Commander has not sent a move to me.

USA: Rafiki
CSA: GShock

From GShock...

Wish i could. I am basically making ready to move to San Francisco, permanently if possible. I can barely play at all but I still monitor the forums as u see.

My departure is scheduled the 10th of January so this last month I have limited time to play, however, as soon as I am settled in SF I will play…just the time it takes to buy me a laptop.

Yup, it's at me. I'll pick things up during christmas at the latest.

(Visiting the in-laws = lots of willing baby-sitters & a certain need for some alone time by meslf (with my trusted laptop))

This game has been on hold for a while (about since NC came out, IIRC). On top of that, new 1.08 patches have made the version we are playing fairly antiquated, and on top of that, our Union c-in-c is retiring.

Shall we call it quits on this one, perhaps?

And then, if sufficient interest, perhaps begin another under 1.08?

Since I'm retiring, I don't get a vote, but it is a good point that in the time that has passed since we started, there are a number of significant changes that have been introduced in the game, which works in favor of a restart.

It might be good to await the bulk of Grey Lensman's RR updates, though, perhaps?

In any case, it's great fun; I'm calling it quits due to being unable to devote necessary time to the game (especially the AAR), not because it isn't interesting and fun :)

Yeah, I think a restart if we can find the people would be the better plan. Between the new people coming in and the updates, I think it would work better.

So Korrigan, is it now official, game ovah? Can we now read everyone elses's aars? :o )

Yep, I think everyone agree to close the game.

It was a great experience, congrats!

If we are numerous enough, I'm ready to host a new Grand campaign game. However, not before few weeks as I'm face down in work right now and I believe I'm not the only one to be busy.

If you are interested, please apply here.

Meanwhile... you can read the other side AARS. Some AARs lack the last updates, I feel it would be nice to make a quik summary of the last turns if you can. If requested, I can send you all the files too.

Best regards,

Ludovic

So, what do people think?

So far, I've read the Union AARs and the CSA war room. I'll be starting on the CSA AARs next; a lot of good writing to read :)

It's good to see that there haven't been too many misunderstandings between us (the Union players) underway. There are a couple of things I'd do different (*cough* army command *cough* ;) ), but all in all it seems we were able to cover the necessary things via the war room.

I have to say I'm impressed with the telegrams in the CSA war room; gave it all a very authentic feel :)

Yes, a few "Oops!" moments, like dealing with the army changeover, but all in all, I thought things went pretty well. I'd love to give it another go if the players can be gathered, though I think I'd prefer a section with slightly more active generals. :)

If we were to organize a second Grand Campaign, what should be done differently? And for that matter, what do you think worked well this time?

(This goes to both those who participated and to those who were spectators)

Well...

I would certainly be more carefull not to put all the Grognards in the same team... :niark:

If I've managed to do things correctly, it should be possible for everyone to post here now; sorry for the inconvenience to anyone who tried to post but was unable to :bonk:
