Hello,

As mentioned in another post, I find some minor issue in NCP Database.

Issue A;

Kharamanmahras Region (ID 1150) has a wrong TerrainType (1 i.e. Ocean). It must be, according to .bmp, 9 i.e. Mountain.

I don't get the huge Map file, so I cannot generate rgn file.

I modfied the file manually. See Attached file.

Issue B ; Units

Unit SPA_Zerain_1 (ID 2776) has wrong ModelType 0 ($ldr_SPA_Zayas1|1). It should be $ldr_SPA_Zerain1|1.

See Attached file.

I will post .xls file during WeekEnd

Issue A1; Map

St Abb's Head Region (ID 2298) has a wrong Bitmap and Winter Bitmap Entries (2298St Abbs Head.bmp and Winter_St Abbs Head.bmp). It should be 2298St Abbs's Head.bmp and Winter_St Abb's Head.bmp according to names of files included in Graphics folder.

See attached file.

I cannot generate rgn file so it's manually modified.

Issue A2 ; Map.

Regions Munster,Wesel, Stuttgart,Nordlingen,Ansbach,Rothenburg,Wurzburg,Bad Kissingen belongs to Berg Area (ID 86). Only Munster and Wessel should belong to Berg Area. Stuttgart,Nordlingen,Ansbach,Rothenburg,Wurzburg,Bad Kissingen should belong to Wurtemberg Area as per Cities.xls file.

Don't get the master file (xls) to generate AreaExtInfos file , so new Area ans Area_Aliases files are not very useful.

These look like great things.

I'll make you a deal:

If you can consolidate the "compiled files" into one file, I'll put them into next patch update!

I'd prefer that you send the "compiled files" in "folder structure" that matches the NCP subdirectories (each file in it's proper place), so I can easily find everything.

Also, it will help me if you supply a simple "readme.txt" file listing the changes.

I'll need all the xls files too, of course...

Not asking much, am I?
...but this is "standard" for anything going into official patches....

hehe, the more of this we do, the better for NCP and maybe even someone will want to do NCP2 :w00t:

I've never gotten the xls to do this either. I simple edit the various different Areas files directly. Be sure to test run after edit, as weird things occur if a conflict arises!!!

Lodilefty,

You don't asking too much, I will try to send you everything until Sunday.

Can you make sure the xls files provided in NCP_DB zip file from the forums are the most up to date ones ?
There are some .mdl files generate in 2010 included in last patches and the NCP_DB files are older.

If there is an updated database, can you send it to me if it possible ?

Regards

Bohémond.

I pretty sure that the LocalStrings_NCP xls file posted in the forum is not the lastest one, that why I asked for it in my previous post.

Let me know if I'm wrong. If so I will send the modified one to you.

Issue C2; Models

Model Hugel1 (ID 3395) has wrong LeaderRank parameter ( i.e 2) should be 1 acording to model definition.

This revision will prevent Hugel to form a Corp and make model definition and display consistent.

OK, it's in for next patch:
I also adjusted his VP and POL values to match the other WUR 1* leaders.

...but we need to watch closely if he is used as a Corps Leader in any Setup or Event files..

Hello,

Hugel is never used as Corp leader in any setup or event file.

Only used as a one star leader in Austerlitz scenario

Fix Austrian Artillery Replacements in 1805

Posted: Sun Dec 12, 2010 3:59 pm
by Omnius
One Database fix I wish would happen is fixing Austrian artillery replacements for the 1805 Sun to Austerlitz scenario. A real shame that the two Austrian artillery replacements get sucked up by out-of-the-way fortress artillery on the first turn and then they get no more. A real shame considering that Murat captured 500 cannons in Vienna during the campaign. Either add more Austrian artillery replacements or edit the Austrian fort artillery so they are considered full and won't suck up those valuable Austrian artillery replacements on the first turn. I have only gotten to the short 1806 and 1805 scenarios so far but bet that the long 1805 scenario has the same problem. A little more attention to detail on the scenario setups would alleviate this problem that I've seen in BoA and NCP.

Thanks to Bohemond for paying attention to detail cleaning up these database glitches that will make NCP that much more enjoyable as a finished product!

Hello Omnius,

There are three ways to solve this Austrian Artillery Replacement issue ;

Adding more Artillery Replacement in the Setup file. Need to regenerate the scenario.

Adding a Artillery replacement options as per infantry or cavalry ones.

Making a whole models revision to make Fortress Artillery, Siege Artillery and Coastal Artillery to be Heavy Artillery. It is the better one and almost the one I prefer. It will affect all scenarii. It will prevent this 3 units to take replacements from the Artillery Replacemants pool.

As it's a design issue, It will be nice in somebody from Ageod team give us his feeling. There are maybe some desing matters I'm not aware about.

Anyway the three options are easy to perform.

I like the "Heavy Artillery" solution.

Yoiks: All NCP artillery are "Medium". Lets do all three classes:
$famLightArty
$famMedArty
$famHvyArty

Reference AACW for Light-Medium split....

We'll have to fix Replacements options also.....

Ok, Let's go for "Heavy Artillery"solution.

I will open another thread "NCP Design Improvement"" to make it easy to refer.

Squeaky Wheel Gets Greased

Lodilefty and Bohemond,
Thanks so much for actually taking my complaint seriously and coming up with an option to make my request come true. I sure hope that this heavy artillery fix gets incorporated in as many AGEOD games as possible. Thanks for proving the old saying that the squeaky wheel gets greased! :coeurs:

Issue C3/B1 ; Models/Units

There are 2 models named Alava1 (ID 2542 and ID 2751) and units named Alava1 (ID 2658 and ID 2777). The first one is the General Don Miguel de Alava and the second one Admiral Ignacio Maria de Alava ( According to Trafalgar Setup).

The AGE engine always take the first one, leading to some weird result as make it command the spanish Fleet in Coruna.

I change the first one into MAlava1 to avoid confusion (changes reflected in models, units and LocalStrings).

Only issue they got the same picture ( Alava.png).

Nikel can you help ?

Malava1 doesn't appear in any Setup or Event File so no scenario to regenerate.
