Add new ARmy HQ option

Wed Oct 29, 2008 3:13 pm

Have the improvement to issue evidenced in the link:
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=10672

The new Military Options adds an Army HQ, a couple of Supply trains, a Sanitary Company, a Pontooners Company

Most important the option is called up and appear at Military Option Ledger pages only when a side as no other Army HQ on map!

See attached EXL file for details........ :neener:

P.S.: I could also add by scenario events options few replacements for HQ to be added at some random times along the campaign.

Good work!
Adding some HQ replacements (by event or option) could be a good improvement. In many NCP campaign HQ element slowly "go to the red" as turns go by (specially if playing with hardened attrition) and there is no replacement for them :(
I suppose Peninsular war Campaign may have this problem also.

I suggest that you rather extract the useful parts of those threads and make a post or two about it in this thread. Merging the threads into this one can make things confusing and you risk having the "useful" parts represented here drown amongst the other posts.

In any case, you have links to the thread there, so the info is easily accessible.

We don't ordinarily close threads. That only happens when they turn ugly and there is little or no hope for it.

I'm getting error notification in first game-turns with patch 1.05a!

SpanishCamp events1808 EXLfrom last NCP DB

Line 1093:
ChangeLoyaltyFac; -20

Wrong syntax: Region/Area missing
to Pocus
Let me know where: Madridid region or the full area?

Line 1116:
ChangeLoyaltyFac; 15

Wrong syntax: Region/Area missing
to Pocus
Let me know where: Madridid region or the full area?

Lines 1606-1607:

SelectRegion; $Bordeaux
ChangeLoyaltyFac; 15

Doubts as regard!
May be better to use: ChangeLoyaltyFac; $Bordeaux |15

BTW, DO WE HAVE ALSO TO INDICATE IN COLUMN A THE FACTION INFLUENCED BY LOYALTY CHANGES?

Ex:
F08; ChangeLoyaltyFac; $Bordeaux |15
At moment it’s:
NULL; ChangeLoyaltyFac; $Bordeaux |15

To Nikel, arsan, and others…..
Please, try Pen War scenario for the French side, over NCP 1.05a, running first 6-8 turns.
Reports any error notification you could get!
No need you dedicate time to planning moves: we are simply looking for processing file mistakes.

Thanking all you in advance!

Hi JastaV

Just tested the penisnsular scenario as the French till turn 9.
No errors or strange messages
Version 1.05a installed over a clean spanish retail version (1.03)
I found a couple or quirks (non related with this i think) that will post on the beta 1.05a thread.
Regards!

This should be only Madrid I believe. And you have to put the faction tag before the line.

Thanks for indication I'll go after fixing.

BTW, faction tag is not reported in most such command lines....... I'll fix that too, but I start thinking PenWar scenario EXL files included into NCP DB is not updated.
Error notifications I had were produced by replacement of last patch "1808 Campaign EVENT" file with one I got processing matching EXL files.
That's reason why Nikel did not get them!
May be some fixes at AGEod in the past have been done directly over game files without updating the EXL files.
Of course now I need to work over EXL files for the overal fixing of the scenario.

jastaV, look at the date of the files, as they are compressed the date is the one of the last time they were modified

PW campaign excel file is dated 27 june.

The only scen updated were 1813 and 1815, as is reported in the readme in the last patch, the date is 20 and 15 october for thos files

1813:
- Sudden Death Rule enabled.
- Added a numerical index for units sharing a common name: 1/Brigade von Stockmayer, 2/Brigade von Stockmayer.
- Some typos fixed.
- Duplicate units removed.
- Saxon Betrayal event fixed.
- 2 historical options fixed.

1815:
- Sudden Death Rule enabled.
- 1 historical option fixed.

In the PW there were notification problems playing with the french side, example Cintra event. It was reported many times, and still not fixed

Yes that seems to be a proof in favour of my thesis: someone directely worked game files bypassing EXL files. :bonk:

BTW, no need you enlist 1813 and 1815 scenarios changes to my benefit! :mdr:

Hello JastaV. As you seem to be "the man in charge" now :D , I would like to bring to your attention some problems on the Portugal map, having specially to do with the peninsular campaign. Nothing gamebreaking, but nevertheless at least to me, simply irritating (a good comparison of some of the errors would be if the Venice region of the Italy map were named Catania...:wacko :)

here, goes, for the nth time:

Below a link to a thread about errors and proposed corrections pertaining mainly to Portugal in the NCP map (1808 peninsula campaign)

The main points are

A. Geography
1- Land regions:
- Zamora should be a spanish region (Zamora was allways a spanish town. This change leads to a small artifactual clipping of the northeast of Portugal. An alternative would be to change the name of the region to Bragança, a portuguese town. But I choose not to do it as this region is served in the game by a major road, and in the beginning of the 19th century there certainly was no major road in the northeast of Portugal)
- Villa Real should be Vila Real
- Douro estuary should be Estuário do Douro
- Oporto should be Porto
- Lower Tago should be Tejo
- Tago estuary should be Estuário do Tejo
- Beira should be Beja
- Lagos should be Faro
- Zafra should be Moura (Zafra is indeed a spanish town, to the southeas of Badajoz)
2 - Sea regions
- Costa do Oporto should be Costa do Minho
- Bahia de Setubal should be Baía de Setubal
- Cabo de Sao Vicente should be Cabo de São Vicente
- Ria Formosa should be Cabo de Santa Maria
- Cabo Fisterra should be Cabo Finisterra, on the nortwest of Spain

B. Military
- Garrison Peniche should be Garrison Lisboa
- Cuerpo de Taje should be Cuerpo del Tago (the spanish name for the river Tejo is Tajo, I believe. But I decided to keep Tago, as it is the name that is "hardcoded" on the spanish part of the map).

Thank you for reporting!
I'll keep care of all of your notes in the perspective to work the Peninsular War scenario.
BTW, are you familiar with Spanish language?
(Me not! :( )
If so, I suggest you to visit the spanish language pages: most of the discussion over Spanish names for Peninsular War scenario is going on there!

Here a direct thread link:
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=11124

No updates in last two weeks: indeed I pleased Nikel and Arsan to give any priority to the 1813 GC project.

Notice, I'm not in charge: I'll simply try to convert spanish mates works to NCP codes!
