Spring 1813 Davoult Corps

Sat Sep 13, 2008 5:50 pm

In Spring 1813, leaving 1st Corps command Davoult took charge of a detached Corps, (later formally 13th) with duty to conquer Hamburg and screen Main French Army Left side.

I have not informations over this force composition in March April 1813.

thanks in advance for support  !

Actually this is a demand about historical informations, so it is more fit in another NCP forum. Modding is about asking how to mod the game, from a technical standpoint.

I'll be moving this thread JastaV, thanks for the good work!

Poor jastaV, his threads are always moved here and there  :mdr:

I have found this letter from Napoleon to Davout, 2 of march 1813. My french is noexistant, so I am not sure, but here seems to be the instrucions to form the force you talk about from units of the I and II corps, but giving free hand to Davout about the specific elements and generals. If you have the OOB of both corps you can pick as Davout did? :neener:

The next letter to Davout is dated early june, congratulating Vandamme for taking Hambourg. I will try to check Davout and Beauharnais correspondence to see what I get

My confidence and approach to French, (as with Spanish) is mediated by my home-language analogies with Neo-Latin languages........
That's a good tool for serious misanderstandments! :mdr:

This page is specific to Hamburg siege:

Unfortunately what WE need is a regiment level detailed OOB! :bonk:
