Spring 1813, Kleist Prussian-Russian Corps

Fri Sep 12, 2008 8:15 pm

In spring 1813 Kleist was in command of a Prussian-Russian Corps in charge of Leipzig defence.
It was composed of the equivalent of two divisions/Brigades.

Prussian "Division"
1. Bat./1. Westpr. IR|NULL|NULL
1. Jager Bat/2. Ostpr. IR|NULL|NULL
1. & 3. Bat./Leib-IR|NULL|NULL|NULL
2/2 Ostpr. Jager Bat|NULL|NULL
2. Leib-Husaren|NULL
1. Pferd Bte (6)
3. Bte (6)

Russian "Division"
Grodno Hussar
Mensdorf Cos.|NULL
23rd Jager|24th Jager
25th Jager|26th Jager
1st Position Battery (12)
Mensdorf Horse Battery (6)

Although I have collected details over the two "Divisions" composition I have not information over the respective commanders.

I'll be gratefull for help!

May be you are right!
I was posting at main page for an higher visibility: it was a general information request even if related to an editing/modding project!

In march and Avril, i have Kleist in the Yorck Corps, i don't have him at Lützen.
The only OOB closed to yours is 20-21 May at Bautzen where he leads the Prussian Advance Guard, but there is no Divisional leaders, only Brigade leaders.
General Major Rudiger for Grodno Hussars.
GM Vlastov for 23 and 24 Jäger.
GM Roth for 25 and 26 Jäger.
Brigade Oberstlieutenant Steinmetz for 1, 2, and Fus Colberg IR.
Brigade Major Von Thumen 1, 3/ 1st Silesian Hussar Rgt; 1 and 2/ 2nd Silesian Hussar Rgt ; Prussian Horse Battery 3.0
Brigade GM Radionov II : Illoswaiski# 4 Don Cossack Rgt ; Radinov #2 Don Cos. Rgt ; Selivanov #2 Don Cos. Rgt.

This is what I have found.

In this reference there are two prussian-russian corps, in fact they are small

http://books.google.com/books?id=ZeozpuGHhVoC&pg=PA81&vq=kleist&dq=1813+Kleist+leipzig&lr=&as_brr=3&source=gbs_search_s&sig=ACfU3U3WWwcEGdWyn1sk1RCX-8VI2qUE6Q

In Osprey L&B, there are two allied OOB

2 of may, Kleist corps defending Leipzig, what jastaV was taking about

http://books.google.com/books?id=IceNOb_iQ-kC&pg=PA24&vq=kleist&dq=1813+Kleist+leipzig&lr=&as_brr=3&source=gbs_search_s&sig=ACfU3U1dIKoaa_ah1lbobcq0A5oM05RZtQ

Russian commander name is given Roth, must be this, with portrait, so if you need him for your modded campaign, just tell me ;)

20-21 may

Two brigades, again Roth is commandig the russians but no name for the prussians, perhaps it was Kleist himself?

http://books.google.com/books?id=IceNOb_iQ-kC&pg=PA26&vq=kleist&dq=1813+Kleist+leipzig&lr=&as_brr=3&source=gbs_search_s&sig=ACfU3U3kmCl2WEj5cq8j8Mo53Bh5AKBmEQ

Same book, page 35. As Florent said, before Kleist force was originally in Yorck force, but here it is considered separated at least since the end of march

Why a new unit? If the original is in error, wouldn't it be best to correct it?

Creating new units and models in a case like this will lead to difficult to detect errors later.....

There's not original one!
There's not Roth/Rot leader in NCP database!

BTW, Roth is no mentioned in 1813 august OOB.
I'm working to 1813 April OOB, wher Roth figures out as a Brigade/Division commander of Kleist Korps in Leipzif.

Here is the solution:

Prussian Bde: BG Tippelskirch

Russian Bde: BG Roth

Sorry, I was lost in space :o

I'm not familiar at all with NCP or the era. Just offering some advice to help avoid hard-to-find bugs... ;)
