Neapolitan Army, 1813 leader!?

Thu Jul 31, 2008 1:00 pm

In default 1813 scenery Murat is in charge as Neapolitan Army Commander, spawned at NAPOLI!

That's wrong!
Murat took part to 1813 Germany campaign, commanding the "Southern Front" on Leipzig battlefields.
Now, it will be easy to attach Murat to Grande Armée HQ in the modded campaign........
The trouble is with the vacancy in Neapolitan Army leadership: who I should edit as commander of Neapolitan Army in place of Murat?

Only link I found:

http://home.arcor.de/hemmann/zf/index_e.html

Chief of General Staff and Captain of the Guards: General Lieutenant Millet the Villeneuve could be a possibility?!

Thanks in advance for support/suggestions

Recalled when Joseph Bonaparte was appointed king of Spain, he was installed on Joseph's throne of Naples. Soon at odds with Napoleon, he joined the Grande Armée for the Russian campaign, commanding it when Napoleon left. He returned to his kingdom as soon as he could, resisted Allied attempts to win him over, and rejoined Napoleon in 1813. After Leipzig he went back to Italy and struggled hard to retain his throne. Hearing that Napoleon had escaped from Elba he went to join him, but was denied even an audience. He returned to Naples, now in Bourbon hands, and was shot by firing squad. Murat characteristically declined a blindfold and gave the order to fire.

(Explains why he would be with the Army in Naples) I don't have NCP, so I don't know the dates in the game's campaign, but it is not such a stretch that he'd be in Italy. I also couldn't find any secondary commanders.
My name is Aaron.

I think that Millet de Villeneuve is right.

If he was the "Chef d'état-major de l'armée", sounds logical that he was in charge of the neapolitan army after Murat departure. But AFAIK Millet is not included in the game. In the game appears General Carascosa, but he is a subordinate of Millet in the OOB, "only" General of Division.

According to this book (in french, so I am not sure), Murat arrived at Dresde the 14 of august. In the next page you can read that he left Germany for Naples the 24 of october

So if your modded 1813 campaign is starting in spring, Murat arrival to Germany is an event, like for example the arrival of Napoleon to Spain?

Okay, Millet de Villeneuve will be Naepolitan Army Commander on Murat vacation!........That means I have to edit and add a new profile for Millet de Villeneuve, supporting rank 3!
What as regard Millet portrait? Is it already available?.......I invite YOU to check this aspect.......for your painting great competence!

As regard Modded Campaigns, I remind you Germany 1813: Hist mod and Germany 1813: April startup are two separate projects..... Although most of issues I'm going after with the first will be used with the second one!

I thank you for this piece of information.....
....and of course I'll manage Murat arrival to Germany by an event!

Millet de Villeneuve appears in the database. I have already been searching for a pic of him to make a portrait, but no luck :p leure:

This is the reason I suggested Carascosa, he has a portrait in the game.

if you browse the units folder, other general in the game in the neapolitan army with specific portrait is Lecchi. Joseph Bonaparte was in Spain by that time. Faceless are Dumas and Mahnes. I can do a portrait of Dumas if needed, but according to the wikipedia he was at Germany and was made prisoner, and he was only at Naples with Joseph not with Murat

I have decided in favour of Millet de Villeneuve!
It will be with ver 2.07!
Carascosa has very poore ratings and no abilities at all: very bad for an Army commander.
Trust, you could get better luck with Millet de Villeneuve portrait sources in the future........ :siffle:

Unfortunately I have not been able to find any portrait of him :p leure:

The good news are that searching I have found a source of more french general portraits and of good quality, among them Ricard, that you were requesting here.

http://www.ageod-forum.com/showpost.php?p=95042&postcount=37

All of them are black and white, litographs by Forestier, like the ones of Friant or Foy among others, so I suppose that the final result will be good. For example here is Rampon

Edit: I am not able to see it in the forum, but I promise that above there is a portrait of Rampon :niark:

Thanks Rafiki ;)

I followed your link, but appears this window, that must be related with Gray_Lensman modding network

But I cannot click or do anything. Do I need the plugin he talked about? I tried with Opera and IE browsers.

So I went directly to

http://www.birth-of-america2.com/ageod/forums/

And I can see now the attached pics, so the new and definitive address of the forum is that?

The point in sending you to that picture was to trigger a specific log-in for that forum address; I could've used any other picture attached to a post, and the plugin Gray is talking about.

http://www.birth-of-america2.com/ageod/forums/ is not the permanent address; it has been used while we've been waiting for the server move of http://www.ageod-forum.com to get in place :)
