I find the austerlitz campaign hard as nails

Fri Aug 27, 2010 5:27 pm

tried 20 times, can never get above a stalemate. The decision to take cities or smash armies is difficult. Running after the remnants of the austrians after Ulm is time wasting and finding the decisive battle with the russians is impossible. The Italian side is 50% if you get mantua you wont get venice...aaahhhh

I find the weather can affect the outcome quite signficantly. If I can get off to a quick and decisive start with clear weather, the rest of the campaign falls into place. If, on the other hand, the French cannot destroy Mack's army at Ulm within a couple of turns, then it seems to become alot harder to win convincingly.

Played this scenario for the first time with the new patch 1.06 and I notice the Austrians are considerably more aggressive - especially in italy.
