[AACW] How to get a "Generic Leader" into the game

Fri Jan 08, 2016 2:02 am

Greetings fellow modders and gamers,

I think the modding-fever has taken a hold of me.

I've spend quite some time to make the 3 graphic files needed for a new unit (to be put into the folders "Units", "Portraits" and "Armies&Fleets").

Here's a preview of the generic leader I put together:

As you can see it's a "generic general" for the Confederate Army. Now the next step would be to put together a Model (mdl) file and a corresponding Unit (uni) file. The best way I figured to do this is to copy/paste one from the available .mdl and .uni files from an already available leader, rename them (making sure the numeration is one up from the last available one so there are no gaps in the used model and unit numbers) and make changes to the stats to fit this generic leader's role.

So far so good - but that's where I currently am stuck, because I am unsure how to proceed.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
