The scenarios are compatible with 1.15 version.
I have not checked with the latest Beta.
I will test it out and see.

I have no idea what you are doing as I have only read this post - but did you clear out the directories before unzipping the new models and units?

Cheers, Chris

Did you........

Copy the uni_Alias.ini and mdl_Alias.ini files and place them in..............

C:\Program Files\AGEod's American Civil War\ACW\Aliases folder?
These two files have to go into the Aliases folder not the Gamedata folder.

If you did then try deleting the existing Models and Units folder in Gamedata. Then copy the new Models and Units folder and put them into Gamedata.

Are the scenarios in the first post of this thread Official updates to the official scenarios??
If they are not then it should be stated as unnofficial as not to confuse newbies to the game.
Thanks. ;)

No! my scenarios are not "official". Some are updates to existing and some are additional scenarios not in the stock scenarios.

Thats why they are in the AACW Mods section of the Forum.

bigus:

Have you tested these scenarios with 1.16 RC4 etc. ?

There is some interest in adding your unique scenarios to the next patch. :coeurs:

Assuming that the DB files posted are up-to-date, we have all the documentation we need.... :w00t:

Thanks!

I might be able to help reconcile Jeff's files with the official ones. But, yeah, let's all work together to make these scenarios official.

(What about the Kentucky '62 scenario?)

I have'nt tried to generate the scenarios with the new Beta yet.
I will try this weekend if I have time.

Berto you might be interested to know That I am finally on the verge of completing the Red River scenario. I have to finalize the OOB and its ready to go. It's local to the Red River though. I wanted to include Prices' raid but decided to keep it to the actual campaign with Steele and Banks.

So your Red River scenario doesn't include the Camden Expedition? That would be an interesting sideshow.

Yes it does include the Camden expedition but not Prices' raid after that portion of the red river campaign.

Bigus, have you had time to do your magic so that the scenarios would work with 1.16 RC? I haven't bothered to install 1.16 RC yet, as I'd prefer to use your scenarios :)

Question from newbie

Once the scenario string files are installed, is anything else needed to play the game (PBEM)? I don't know where to place the "Scenario Database Files," and it looks like the other files are optional. Sorry for my ignorance, but I just got the game a week ago...excellent value, but I'm still a very green recruit.

No.

Please note that you only need the strings files if you want the foriegn languages displayed. If you want english only then you can install the scenerios with english descriptions.

You do not need the database files to play. They are for reference only. They are the files I use to generate the scenarios.

Hope this helps,

New Scenario (Red River)

by bigus
"Red River Campaign" 6 turns (beta).

Note: I wanted to be able to block certain river regions to simulate the low river levels of the actual campaign. I ended up having to compromise.
Each turn, certain regions of the Red, Sabine and Washita rivers have a chance of being at a low river state. When this happens all units in the river region will be locked for one turn. It is possible to be locked for multiple turns.

Edit: It seems the script is still not working. The scripting command used was acting on infantry only. I have reverted back to blocking river regions. :(

"Terrible Swift Sword" 215 turns (beta)
Grand campaign with weekly turns. I've actually had this scenario sitting around for about two years. Uses the old kentucky scripts. City levels, Csc, WS, scripts have all been altered for this scenario.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I asked this in a different thread, but maybe this one is more appropriate. Are the 1.15 scenarios compatible with the new 1.16 release?

I've only tested a few scenarios but they appear to be compatible with the new patch.
