Disappearing generals

Tue Jul 01, 2008 3:11 pm

I've just lost two of my best generals - Sherman and Hooker - to what looks like a bug, though I'm not sure.
Their portraits have disappeared, but the tabs and divisions they commanded are still called by their name and there are now two brigades called Sherman and Hooker.
They have also disappeared from the generals list in the ledger.
None of them were involved in any combat this turn and I have received no messages about their removal.

???

Is this a bug - or just a feature that I don't comprehend?
Any way to get them back?

We need more information. What version are you playing? Which scenario? What symbols do have in place of the Sherman and Hooker icons?

Of course, should have done that from the start.
I'm playing Clovis' mod (Struggle for a vast future), the full campaign, I'm in early june '62.

I've attached a couple of screenshots.
'Sherman 1' shows the view of Sherman's division when hovering over it with the pointer. His portrait is in the pop-up, but not on the division icon.
'Sherman 2' is when I have dissolved the division. Sherman is not there.
Sherman's portrait has also gone from the unit icon on the map.
Hooker is a bit different as his portrait is still on the map icon, but otherwise it's the same as with Sherman.

As I mentioned above, both generals have dissappeared from the ledger.
Any input on this one?
I've got a good game going, so I'd hate to have to start over...
