Getting Started

Sun Sep 12, 2010 3:55 pm

What actions should I consider to get some better officers?

How do I create additional supply wagons?

Anthropoid, are you playing BOA, the first game made by AGEOD, or are you playing BOA2, Wars in America?

I ask, since most people have moved on to WIA and I want to be sure you're in the right forum :)

Indeed :)

It's been quite a while since I played BOA myself, so I won't dare an answer to your questions; hopefully others with better knowledge of the game will see them and help you out :)

In BoA there are no "Purchase options"in the game.

All new officers, supply wagons, etc appear by scripted event.

In some scenarios, you will automatically recieve Militia each spring, but see Militia disband each winter.....
Always ask yourself: "Am I part of the Solution?" If you aren't, then you are part of the Problem!

Thanks for answering my question Lodilefty :)

So I'm gathering that the limited number of supply wagons effectively models the limited capacity to engage in campaigns into enemy territory?

They replenish when they are inside structures, right?

Had something a bit strange happen in the 1755 Montcalm scenario. I eventually got Montcalm's army down to Fort Frederic :mdr:

Great game!

Yes. A depot will speed up replenishing, as will larger cities

I am a newcomer in Grand Strategy games, and I decided to begin with Birth of America even though it is a bit old. ;)
I thought it had less features than its sequel, so that's why I began with BoA (I am not a good strategy gamer :( ), and it is the first time since... (I don't remember) that I haven't so enjoyed a video game!

I can't wait to play new ones, but before that, I have to improve my skills :p

This game is still here, in an expanded form: either BoA2 or WIA.

I totally agree, a little bit easier and more manageable than BoA2: the ideal for a "newby" to begin to play with the AGEOD engine.
