Hopefully it will do wonders, so that you can get rich and...wait... not too much though, if you get too rich and happy, you'll just quit and retire in the Bahamas, so I guess I hope it does well enough to buy you a fancy new car and allow you to hire even more great designers/programmes to developp...

Well if the fight continues, maybe you could switch to the present tense (strive instead of strove), because we the past it sounds as if the poor chap has passed away.

It is a very nice dedication though.

If I may add, a sieging army is a sitting concentrated army that tends to suffer a significant attrition, because of the difficulties in supplying the army, and the hygene issues... A siege in the Mississipi Delta in summer would cause a significant attrition me thinks...

I wholeheartedly agree.. From what I get of AGEOD's design philosophy, the idea is to make a game that allows the player to feel like the CiC, dealing with the real issues (supplies, detection, cohesion and all) while hiding from him all the purely mechanic aspect of the game, so that it does not be...

Still, having the number of guys on the battle result screen would be good, so that with have an immediate impression of how bloody the battle was :

74 456 mens, 129 guns 13 604 casualties.

Something like this.

How can I know how many troops fought each other in that battle ?

having the casualties is great, but it would mean more if we could see that 46 000 rebs attacked 53 000 union soldiers and lost 7 000 soldiers on the first day, etc...

Great.. one little correction though, it should be "ejercito de Mexico" and not "Armada de Mexico". In spanish "Armada" refers to the fleet ( remember the invincible armada in 1588 ?)

Otherwise great... Mexico intervenes for the USA if it does right ? Or can it actually intervene for the two sides ?

Something I would really love to se would be a very short AAR or even just screenshots of a big battle and its immediate outcome : I would like to get a feel of how after a big battle the armies cohesion look like, and to what extent cant the victor exploit his success... Please.... I know your busy...

Hmmm... Tremy's suggestion really sounds very intriguing... One could imagine that all generals would start the war with low stats, but "good" generals would progress quickly to reach their optimum... This way the beginning of the war would be slow and messy, with lots of failed checks, and slowly i...

I have to agree with Spharv there, Seniority and Pol rating are really part of the excitement of this game for me... If you don't do that then you'll have Grant in the east and Sherman in the west in 1861 and they will be able to concentrate, advance, seek and destroy at will.. The only way to avoid...

Well lets say it's not the priority, but you could randomize Seniority and political value in a lottery way rather than in a totally random way : say Union starts in the game with the real not hidden generals and it gives it : 1 4 stars general with 100 Pol value 3 3 stars generals with 20, 15 and 5...

I actually think a combination of the two systems could be good... Obivously McClellan is an exceptionnal case, and I think that for the first say year of the game ( if its the june 1861 start date ), his removal should be too expensive to do.. Then a decrease in political price... But preventing ea...

Yes but the point exists that if you have a stalemated war in 1864 ( say the CSA managed ot hold its own and establish strong defensive positions on all the main fronts ), even though the Union could and would win a protracted war at heavy cost, it might in the end opt for peace following a Democrat...

thing is the strat rating in this game doesn't measure the strategic genius but rather operational ability. If Lee had 6-4-4, which is a sensible evaluation, then you'd have to lower the strat rating of almost every other leader in the field to make sure only Lee and a handfull ( ie less than 5 ) ge...

OK, but then give him 0-0-1... Really 0-0-0 seems completely unreasonnable... Come on you can give him bad traits as well, but as a matter of principle 0-0-0 really shocks me.

He was not strictly speaking useless, he was very bad. A 1-1-1 general with Overcautious is a very bad general. If you want you can even make him 1-0-1 to prevent him from committing any form of offensive, but 0-0-0 is really beyond very bad...

0-0-0 seems really too harsh... Give him 1-1-1 and overcautious or something like this but 000 really is making him as good as a pile of dirt ?

Actually I would even consider making him 1-1-2 to give him at least marginal utility.

This looks very nice, I think it is a good example of how different traits can be given for different command levels.
