Re: 1.02 Missing General Portraits Still Not fixed? + Missing critical RR

Hi Leibst thanks for replying. I think you'll agree that a few corrections on critical RRs will really improve things by way of historical accuracy. Here's what I see: 1) The RR spur heading SW from Madrid should carry on to Talavera, which should be a level 4-5 city, and then on to Caceras followin...

The here ageod forum you write should however be the best to ask, as it is aimed by the official game webpage.

1.02 Missing General Portraits Still Not fixed? + Missing critical RR

I just started a campaign game and immediately notice this ongoing problem. Colonel Alavarez-Rementeria (NAC) in Sevilla has no face portrait, just a blank. I've read the threads on this and this issue goes back to 2016 at least: why is it not fixed? Another issue I brought up last year was this egr...

Re: PBEM issues (as usual)

It is a really weird and non-intuitive solution, but such is the nature of things. Non-intuitive is the phrase that sums it up. They do such a brilliant job with historical research for these gems, I guess they have to muck it up somewhere. But really, an easy universal game to game pbem set-up wou...

Well that helps. We're likely just mucking up with files and directories. I'll keep at it.
We're starting the 1755 campaign scenario (#8).

PBEM issues (as usual)

I'm used to convoluted pbem issues with this game system, game by game, but have hit the wall with BoA2 since the WIA patch was installed. We've tried regular and dual hosting to no avail. Anyone have any advice?

Re: Wars of Succession has been updated to version 1.01

It can't be too hard to get it to display the correct version number can it? Looking in the credits mine still says version 1.0; even though the patch installer said installation successful. God I'm glad you guys don't program avionics; or do you? Well said. This issue seems to go way back into pre...

Re: New patch ?

There is a Royalist Commission that can be played for Oxford on Turn 1 but it seems to have 0% chance of happening (I replayed it 15 times). A simple tweak could make this high probability or a certainty. Royalist loyalty is 24%, Parliamentarian 26%, Neutral 51%. One wonders how accurate this is. Wh...

I've run this patch through four times and the Pressburg trigger appears to be blown: --France sends peace offer through Laws and Decrees --Austrian response in Laws and Decrees appears with prefix: opt_title_AUS_PeaceOfPressburg --if manually accepted Austria gets back all initial locations (no ter...

Re: Madrid - Talavera RR Map Error

I'm not out to be captious with a project I very much admire; that said however, the great attention to historical detail you can see throughout Espańa 1936 is marred by some significant RR map errors. Many of these can be seen when compared with this German 1921 map of existing Spanish railways: ht...

Madrid - Talavera RR Map Error

The reason the Nationalists were able to drive on Toledo so quickly in 1936 was their use of the Madrid-Badajoz railway which passed through the important large town/small city of Talavera del Tajo (Talavera). This important RR is missing from the SCW map thus making it difficult (but not impossible...

Yes and he had intended to move earlier and head south. Two final factors closed the door for Lee: his horses were too weak to pull guns and wagons with heavy mud and he was waiting for the land to dry out; and secondly the infamous CSA supply train for his army that failed to appear when he finally...

Re: Can the CSA actually win?

A good question and I don't have Furguson's book on Richmond during the war. One might assume it was made during the period of the siege in 64-65, but it could really apply to any period he was fighting to defend Richmond, even back to the Peninsula campaign. So I don't know. As well: "reported...

To the People of the Confederate States of America. Danville, Va., April 4, 1865. Re: Can the CSA actually win?

Yes and a Confederate victory often involves finally moving the capital out of Richmond later in the war and fighting on. When Lee capitulated the CSA still controlled a huge area and a more effective strategy would have been that of trading some of this space for time; i.e.moving the capital back t...

You're right, I just checked and found various saved games from earlier iterations there though not my most recent before the upgrade. I had quite forgotten about that. who would want a game balanced and both sides equal? we want history. So adjust the winning conditions.... Exactly. It's not a big deal but I believe the fix ran an uninstall and wiped the Save folder clean as one would expect. It caught me by surprise as I simply used the Update function on the game menu to get the new patch.

Good to see an upgrade.

A quick attempt seems to indicate that saved games in progress from the earlier iteration will be lost--is this the case?
