Re: So - How's the New Diplomacy ?

Hi

I would say that Empires diplomacy is best of all Ageod games.

Not perfect but working good. Cant wait to see it transfered to some XVIII centuries reality :)

Re: Rise of Prussia, Revolution under Siege and Civil War nostalgia and engine question

One additional thought. Maybe, first game to transfer from old resources in to new engine is AJE. As this is ancient tranfering tactical battles would go along Empires way. And Economy and trade could be transferred from Empires as well. Say – having more less a regular AJE game with montly turns an...

Re: Rise of Prussia, Revolution under Siege and Civil War nostalgia and engine question

I think Field of Glory is a beautiful game. The way trade is solved is pretty innovative and I think it can be applied in a very beneficial way to XVI – XIX century reality. The same goes for managing State, administration and political system. All of those are surprisingly good. Yet the game is gra...

Rise of Prussia, Revolution under Siege and Civil War nostalgia and engine question

I recently played again Rise of Prussia and realized once again how great this game is. The same goes for RUS or CWII. These are brilliant operational/strategic level games with great political and history twists. I love map scales – they give sense of space and they allow to recreate pre-industrial...

Re: FoG:Empires vs Imperator:Rome

It seems that yet again Ageod is making more accurate and better historical game - where running a country is not only about gettin as much soldiers as fast to one location but rather ballancing few things. The very big question is how fun would be single game ( as AI in previuos Ageod games was str...

Re: New engine in XVII/XVIII/XIX century games

You know guys, Slitherine never made a mystery that the engine can be licensed to a third party team willing to tackle a subject of his choice. :siffle: well you know, i am a journalist and tv guy - so the only thing i know is to talk, talk, talk and write, write, write selling stories - "mone...

Re: New engine in XVII/XVIII/XIX century games

my understanding is the engine can be used to produce tactical games such as FoG2, somewhat ahistoric 4x (Empires) and scripted constrained games - say a rework of Rise of Prussia. So yes, its feasible that it can be used to replace the classic AGEOD games. Its a system that allows tactical, single...

New engine in XVII/XVIII/XIX century games

I am really impressed with the way that Field of Empires looks like. From what i read in Dev Diaries it seems that is going to be one of the best games to simulate economy and politics in gaming. Really happy for that. I was wondering what would be coming next ( obviously not soon because there will...

How is AI doing?

I was wondering how is computer performing as an enemy in beta tests?
One of the biggest flaws of AGEOD engine was lack of strong computer enemy - which seriously limited fun for single players.
I wonder if the new engine not only made the game run faster and smoother but as well be more challenging

Re: strategic/operational/tactical level

Sorry for the late reply! It is definitely an interesting idea. Possibly a bit challenging to make it easy to oversee and manage for the player, but it would be an interesting solution for games set in later historical eras. I was thinking it might actually help with devalopment of the games as the...

Re: strategic/operational/tactical level

Empires does have more strategic and (slightly more) tactical focus than older Ageod games, and consequently there are slightly less options to micro-manage operational detail. However, often this simply switches the decision-points elsewhere. For example, we don't deal with the construction of sup...

Re: strategic/operational/tactical level

I watched Twitch stream of Empires and it seems Empires will be more Empire building games vs strategy/tactical games of previous titles. I feel that we can't have it all. If they tried to put it all in one game, it could end up a mess. Empires feels like a Civ/TW type of game. thats clear for me, ...

Hi guys. I am ageod heavy user – since the first Birth of America. I own all games and will definitely buy new one. There were number of great things about those games – flavour of history, events, great units, PBEM fun just to name few. One of the things I reale loved was operational level wargamin...

Re: About New AGEOD Engine

It might not be - "arrows era". Pocus said - "there will be arrows" but it might be that there will be some gunpowder as well ( like north america in 1700...) for me the big question is not when but where - so not about Era but about Location i guess Ageod might try to enter asi...

PhilThib had switched to others activities. I know he is not ready to announce anything yet, and anyway that's up to him. He can still pass here to chat with you, but I know he was busy this summer. By saying "PhilThib had switched to others activities" you mean PhilThib left the company,...

Re: Let's bet on the next ageod game

I deduce the following: 1. There will be more AGE engine games. 2. The first not AGE engine game will not be civil war III or any other already covered period. 3. Weapons in the new game between arrows and B-29s :mdr: Maybe the big question about game subject is not When but Where. To get new marke...

Re: Let's bet on the next ageod game

For our first game (with the new engine) it can't be too confidential. On the other hand, we don't want to overreach and do something involving things like strategic bombing ;) So there will be more games with the old engine? what about patching recent relese ? WOS is great yet not patched enough....

Hi gents, I understand the feeling, but the truth is that we are working full time on the new engine and the new theme associated with it!
