You're missing that the game isn't an absolute 1-1 simulation of reality. Orso, you should know from our discussion on fort artillery that I know the game isn't 1-1, and I know how the abilities work. For my own enjoyment, I am trying to get the units closer to the historical times, places and numb...

Old thread, but I am trying to update sharpshooter regiment names myself and researching the history of it. From what I can find, and I might be missing quite a bit, there were never that many dedicated sharpshooter regiments in the Union army (not focusing on CSA at the moment). Typically regiments...

even forts will fall apart if they are not maintained. Sure, but that isn't modeled in the game, any more than is restoring a system 1 or 2 fort from 5 breaches to pristine. I don't disagree with your points about fort garrisons, but I do think the guns should be unfixed. At the very least, they sh...

I believe the atrCityScapeMod will only apply to cities and that there should be a coefficient modifier for forts and redoubts and probably stockades. So fort garrisons might fare worse to some degree under historical attrition. The issue with artillery in general, is that in reality there are crew...

I haven't looked in awhile, but I don't think there are any free heavy arty replacements after the first of the full campaign. April at least; I never play July. Those few replacements don't really help much. If you had historical attrition turned on, that'll make another significant dent every wint...

I see the replacement numbers for the Union coastal batteries and they don't look any better. The Union units on the board look pretty healthy, but again, they start that way. OK, help me out here a little. I'm going to assume in that saved game you were playing the CSA. Did you ever buy enough repl...

Unlike the CSA, don't most, if not all, of the Union coastal batteries start at full strength? I don't know what effect that has, if any. I haven't played the Union enough lately to notice a difference in the attrition rate, but I'm planning to next full game so I'll try to watch for it. As the CSA ...

The problem also exists in a couple adjacent regions.

28 <-> 50 no adjacency either way, even though they are, with railroad and road drawn (and translink defined in their files)
51 -> 28 no adjacency; translink was defined

I don't mind working on these, but someone will have to explain the poly/triangle system to me. It's not as simple in all cases as matching adjacency <-> poly <-> region. I've tried drawing the coordinates on a graph and I wasn't making sense of it. The Translinks are simple enough, but I'm not sure...

Older thread, I know, but I agree with ohms that this is a *huge* annoyance. Keep a loose 1 star in your corps at all times. A workaround that doesn't work well if the loose general doesn't happen to be active at the time. Not as many loose generals in the CSA, so the workaround is a penalty in thei...

It might still be in the CW2 game engine or events somewhere, but I haven't see it fire. In AACW, in some regions or situations there used to be a chance that there'd be a rebellion of sorts and opposing troops would appear. RGDs for partisans and such have taken the place of this. If you were going...

Given their current characteristics they ought to be worth *some* VP. They generate small amount of supply and ammo and provide instant protection from harsh weather. Question about models (CanBeHQStack, CanBeGHQStack)

There are two values that appear in the models of some generals. CanBeHQStack = 1 // this one usually appears in 2-star and 3-star models CanBeGHQStack = 1 /// this one usually appears in 3-star models I couldn't find reference to them on the wiki, and Google was no help. I suspected it had somethin...

When do you usually win (or lose)?

I'm posting this here instead of the modding forum because I'm hoping to get more feedback. I figure more people play the game than mod it, and the main question I have is: in the full campaigns, when have you usually won or lost? I'm working on modding the generals, their appearances in the game an...

Traveling *from* Middlesex, MA, (region 0053) to adjacent region Manchester, NH, (region 0029) does not work. I don't have a problem with the Indian units and probabilities as they are. They're pretty close to historic levels, from what little I've read about it. The CSA receives enough regiments from Indian territory over time to make a small division of them. Three regiments spawn with Watie, three are ju...
