I'm not a fan of them. Indeed, they do seem rather in obscure in their results, and the costs and time don't seem to be worth it, aside from the occasional draft card... which has a clear risk/reward cost of added manpower for a slight hit in loyalty. For future games I hope these card panels are st...

Frankly, they lost me when they decided to break apart their content into the pay-to-play DLC model. Seeing the later campaigns missing from the release version were a red flag for me, and I had a bad feeling that it was missing because they were going to add the scenarios in later as an expansion.....

I've only won as Pompey once. I sent him east and began building as much as I could in Spain and the east. Caesar besieged and took Sicily while Antony moved into Spain. However, I was able to slow Antony down and after several build turns, began my move towards Italy with Pompey's main force. Sever...

Paying for army creation is one of the changes in the new game that I really appreciate. There were lots of times in ACW 1 when building a new army command as the South was just too much in money and WS. In fact, I just wish leader movement and army creation... any kind of staff movement, should be ...

I think it's a good addition overall. It's certainly challenging, especially as the South which doesn't have a lot of forces to work with. The player has to try and do a lot with very little, so that's a nice challenge. I like these smaller scenarios, but they will always be seen as a tasty appetize...

Yeah, Jim's right, corps formation is bugged. In my current game it's late June 1862 and I have 2 ready-to-go corps under Lee in Virginia and A.S. Johnston in KY, and neither of their corps can be formed. The corps box is greyed out. In the attached screen you can see that Polk is two star, force ca...

Additional scenarios

Just wondering if there are plans to release other scenarios, particularly late war scenarios like the ones from the first game.

The two included grand campaigns are fun, but they are both '61 campaigns. Are additional scenarios planned for DLC, patch update, etc?

I always try and remain impartial towards things like this... but just... wow. No words. A few of us are trying to inject a little fun and life into this board and it gets vacuum sucked up by the marketing department. Did we violate some sort of copyright by discussing the civil war? Are we stepping...

McPherson, of course.

Due to Jefferson Davis's handling of the war, one southern state began withdrawing its state forces from national service and actually threatened to secede from the Confederacy. Which state was it?

I agree. At first I thought it looked crappy, too mild and plain. Now that I've seen a couple of game play vids though, it seems to work. Looks to make unit movement and scrolling much easier. I just hope that edicts and internal improvements will actually show up on the map... say if you build a ra...

Philippe is right. The bloodstained banner hardly saw any use, much less combat use. The most fitting flags to use for the South would either be the stars and bars or the battle flag, otherwise known as the southern cross (which was in part based on the flag of St. Andrew which the Scots used long, ...

Yeah, Eriss, but you're from Europe, where women are smart and sophisticated. I'm from 'Murica where women are into shopping and watching reality tv shows. This backlash against the 'dumbing down' of strategy games really annoys me, though I can understand the position. Here's why it bugs me. Like Vaalen said, a lot of the complexity of strategy games, particularly AGEOD games, is on the technical side. Build a decent engine with bells and whistles and...

Loved that game growing up. There's the Scourge of War series, which I guess is sort of the spiritual successor to the Sid Meier's games. But I'm still waiting and hoping that one of these days some developer will make a great strategic civil war game that includes a dynamic 3D tactical battle engin...

I may be in the minority here, but I'm kind of looking forward to a more lean, beer and pretzel AGEOD game for once.
