You may have a point... Nevertheless, Matrix/Slitherine are now, AFAIK, the sole responsibles for marketing/PR of Ageod games. Are they doing a good job ? Not for me to answer.
Hi, Was learning to play the game by trying out the Ager Gallicus scenario... I ran into a couple of things I couldn't explain with construction. First of all, one turn 1 the are 2 Metr. Praesidium and 1 Urb. Praesidium available for construction by the Romans. If I advance to turn 2, those units a...
Interesting sugestion. But, alas, it would require some extensive rework of the scenario and events, (not to mention gamebalancing, as Carthage has a relative minor and ambiguous role) and no plans exist to do so...
Hi Sorry to hear about your troubles. Crashes reported for AJE are rare, and usually related either to Windows or AV software. I see you are running Vista. My suggestions: - run the game always as administrator - turn OFF Windows UAC - make sure your Antivirus software is not scanning in real time a...
Hi, vaalen. The option to appoint a Dictator should become available to the roman player if at least 25 enemy elements (i.e. subunits) are present in one or more of the following regions: Roma, Volsinii, Casinum, Narnia, Spoletium, Corfinium, Capua, Cosa, Clusium, Perusia, Neapolis. If that is not t...
My personal advices: - Do not install this or other games in the "program files" folders. Use for example C:/Games - Turn off UAC. IMHO it is useless... - Be sure your game folders are exempt from auto-scanning from your AV software
Hi, guys. Good advices by James, but I must correct him in one thing: Ageod games ARE WEGO (each player plans his actions and the turn is resolved simultaneously), not IGO-UGO. About Hannibal: He is not invincible, but almost, at least until he gets "old" :) As a roman player, even with your best le...
New laptop, Upgrade from 8.1 to 10 went smoothly, all is well. Some ugly icons, but otherwise it seems to be an improvement! I wonder if your old laptop had enough RAM/CPU to run 10? Hi Lodi  My laptop has an i7 Core CPU and 4G RAM, it should be more than enough... A quick google search a...
Build a true pc. Macintosh had (until some years) always wanted to be not compatible, so it's dangerous to put Windows on. Been there, done that. Before switching to Mac, I was a PC/windows man. The last desktop PC I had was almost totally built by me: mobo, CPU, RAM, graphic card, the works. But I...
Hi guys. I just wanted to share with you my experience with Windows 10, and perhaps know about yours. My main PC is an iMac 27 from 2011, in which I run Windows 7 in dual boot (mainly for Ageod work and play :) ). Everything works like a breeze, in OsX and Win7 I also have a 2010 Asus N61J laptop, a...
Glad you notice it and enjoyed it. ElNino (Stephane Parrin) has an amazing historic knowledge. Every consul and proconsul name and date of entry on "job" were painstakingly researched in every BOR and HAN scenario and then we tried to recreate history as best as we (and the game) permitted. We feel ...
Hi I am moderator of this forum and indeed I am on vacation currently, so I apologize if I didn't answer yesterday. I am glad you solved your issue. Thanks, Arsan and Durk for your help. Anyhow your issue is strange...I also use Microsoft Security Essentials (nothing else) and never had a problem wi...
I am not the "historian" of the team (that is ElNino) But everything I have read tells me that, as depicted in BOR/HAN, each consular army had usually 2 legions and 2 alae.
Hi This option was not removed, but I think I found why it does not show... The script searches for elements with the faction tag CRP, but there are never such elements...The CRP units that Rome can build when she allies with Celtiberians are in fact composed of IBR elements... :bonk: This is indeed...
Hi Syracusae issue should be fixed for next patch, IIRC Syphax issue: There maybe a problem, because the event removes the unit Merc. Equites Mae. . This will not do anything if no such unit has been recruited via a military option of Carthage. But as this option may regenerate (although very rarely...
Hi folks A very fine game has come to my attention - NWS: Rule the Waves, released last month. An info piece was posted at wargamer a few days ago: http://www.wargamer.com/Article/10256 . A very interesting game. A (more than) spartan UI, no doubt, and a grognard-level-game, but a very good gameplay...
Yes, you should use the Diplo option (F5 screen) to "Clear the northern road". Note however that even if you do nothing, and even if you fail to capture Saguntum (...), the war will automatically start eventually, only late, and then the neutral regions will open.
Hi Vaalen
What you describe means you did not install correctly AJE and HAN patches. If load screens do not show the correct version number the patch IS NOT INSTALLED.
Make sure you point the installers to the correct install path.
Hi There is no real error, just a small detail. In the next patch (and I think that with this small fix posted here), Carthage player will indeed be able to "buy" some SYR (Syracuse) replacements, IF needed. But in fact IF Tarentum switches sides for Carthage (via an option that becomes available fo...
