Re: Question - Absorbing Replacements

Hi! No, thats a way to do it, but the standard way to recover such lost elements is through replacements. A replacement chit will be used up and the unit will recover the missing element. A unit can only recover a full missing element per turn. So if the unit is missing more than one it will take se...

Re: PLAY- set in splash/ad page loop

If the problem is related with the Matrix start menu you can try to skip It by using the game exe located in the main Game instalation folder.
In AJE its called AJE.exe.
just create a shorcut to this exe on you Desktop or where you prefer. I do It this way to save some clicking and loading time.

Re: Do Game Settings Only Impact When you start the game?

If you dual host you both definitely need to have the same settings

On standard single host PBEM only the host settings applies.

No, it's not needed. For what i know only the host settings are used.
The other player just give some orders that are then processed by the host on whatever settings he is currently using.

Re: Army Layout

Hi Durk! I read OnearmedMexican excellent AAR back when I started playing RUS. But I don't recall that advice about having a lone arty and cav unit on armies. Personally I find strange that kind of hidden bonus, not related with unit abilities or stats... It's not how things tend to work on AGEOD en...

Re: Does an empty supply wagon help collect supply ?

For what i know, a wagon is needed for a force to collect supplies from surrounding regions. I don't think it matters if it has supply in it or not. So if there are some available supply around I will try to keep a wagon on a force at all times. Of course on a low supply situation, a wagon may also ...

Hi Durk! I have never heard about that special cav and art bonus you mention! Can you point me to some place where it's explained? The only similar thing in aware of is that is nice to have at least a cav unit on each stack for the increased detection rating it gives to the whole stack. But for this...

Re: Army Layout

Hi! Enabling group command on a leader gives him a 1 turn penalty on it's offensive and defensive abilities (I think its minus 2 for each). That's the reason the stack power decreases. But don't worry, it goes back to normal next turn. Just try to not get into battle the same turn you enable group c...

Maybe the Major victory is reserved for when you make the enemy surrender by breaking its national morale or getting your national morale above 175. Not sure... In any case i will not worry at all about the end of game victory message. For what you explain you have archieved a crushing victory. You ...

You can't improve walls level.
To rebuild a destroyed wall using the rebuild card you need to have some regular troops un the region if i recall correctly.

I suspect the high maintenance cost you have is because of the danish fleet. I bet those warships are expensive to maintain and not very usefull. Maybe you can try dissolving some of them. In any case the danish enter the war with a huge amount of money! Did you already expend all? In TYW resources ...

Re: Anyone any tips for beseiging cities while playing as 'barbarians'!

To starve a city with a harbour you need to blockade the sea zone where the harbour exits. For this you need at least 10 naval combat elements on the sea zone. Transport elements won't work. Of course if the enemy has a stronger fleet they will attack your blockade fleet and scare them away. So for ...

Re: Anyone any tips for beseiging cities while playing as 'barbarians'!

As Durk says, your only real option is to wait until the defenders starve and surrender. Siege towers or RGD cards can make a breach from time to time but it's hard to get two or more before the defenders repair them, so usually It doesn't help much. And bear in mind that if the city has an unblocka...

Re: How do I supply ships from an adjacent province?

Transport ships work like suply wagons: they carry a lot of supply and share It with combat ships. So just send depleted transports back to port to replenish and send fully supplied transports to the fleet and they will keep the rest supplied. To supply land forces you will have to ferry wagons to t...

Re: How do I take control of a strategic town?

If the region is not loyal to you you need to keep a regular unit (Cavalry or infantry) there to claim the strategic city.
Irregulars won't do the trick.
Once loyalty is above 50% you won't need troops no more.

Re: Question about PBEM settings

If you are the host of the PBEM game, yes, you will have to check the settings as each turn will be processed with the current settings you have selected.

If you are not hosting the PBEM game i don't think It matters what settings and options you use. It's the host settings the ones that matters.

En España36 no hay zonas navales del tipo que se gestionan con esa opción, así que da igual lo que pongas. No, the easier setting regarding supply is simple supply "ON".

Not sure about the fog of war... I guess no fog of war applies only to the human players. The AI fog of war can be tweaked with the detection bonus setting.

No, it's a diferent thing. We call simple supply to the rules used on WIA or AJE or TWY. They are diferent to the complex supply rules used on games like CW2 or EAW or NAP as in the simple rules supply don't travel from region to region while in the complex rules It does as It represent conflicts wi...
