Re: ECW applying patch

You can install the core game and then the 1.03a patch. The 1.03a patch is comprehensive.

(after installing version I.03 is correct)

Hi Miguel, Error Report says Model UID 1157 is too high. This only happens to me from the Build Screen with HRE Cuirassiers which happen to be Model 157 ( could 1157 be a typo?) I have saves and report if you'd like them but the image shows most of the information Error report image https://www.drop...

Well' I'm very impressed with WoS... still learning

I'm just starting but I have to say that I really like what I see with this game so far. The game looks great and is much larger than I expected. 2 games in one IMHO. My limited knowledge of the era is a challenge but like most Ageod games it's got me interested and is forcing me to learn. Consideri...

Ok I bought it and installed.... running fine :) slight hesitation first time around the map but after that scrolls very fast at least for me...

Nice looking game

BTW the map is really large and impressive!

Re: I'm thinking about picking this up but need to ask how smooth is it running?

No it's a desktop... Windows 8.1, (1 GB Nvidia Ge Force GTX650 video card), (AMD FX-6300 processor) with 16 GB ram. I don't check the settings very often but I decided to check my Ageod games and they're all over the place. Some are set for 10% physical memory a couple at 50% and 1 that I set to 75%...

Re: I'm thinking about picking this up but need to ask how smooth is it running?

I assume you have selected the game option to reduce memory demand and winter maps and such. This is not a monster game, just covers a lot of potential territory. Each scenario is pretty contained. Thanks Durk... I always keep winter maps on because I'll forget and get every body killed. (what I di...

I'm thinking about picking this up but need to ask how smooth is it running?

Hi again,

The Big Map has me concerned. I can play 30 Years War and CW II fine but I've avoided the monsters like TEAW and WON. I've got 1 gig of video ram.

I love Ageod but sometime they run a little slow on my machine; mostly map scrolling.

Thanks for any help! :)

Re: Poll. Future of the AGE engine.

I voted for 'a game the engine can handle' but don't really want it back to BOA style though. that lacked regional decisions. I really enjoy English Civil War , Thirty Years War by HQ and they play fine IMHO. RUS, CWII, AJE also seem ok to me when considering size and still having regional decisions...

Thanks ...

this reminds me of a similar situation I had with Wallenstein capturing Prague for me in 30 Years War. I also checked that event and the logic seems fine .... it may be very difficult to figure out what caused it.

Re: Poll. To be or not to be hexed.

I think it is important that regions or hex sides are considered. Some games only use the hex or region terrain. Other games consider the hex/region side you are crossing; mountains could be the dominate land feature coming into a hex from the west which would cost more movement points or take longe...

Warren Reg arrival captures Bristol for Royalist... wad?

Hi again, Early March 1645 I call the Warren Reg. from Ireland. (playing Royalist) Late March turn the Warren Reg arrives in Bristol which is occupied by a small Parliament force. The Warren Reg captures Bristol. Is this operating as designed? Saves attached---- Might have to use bkup 1 and bkup 2 s...

Re: How do I 'get ahead' with my economy?

First thing to check is the options screen and see if automatic replacements is on .... turn it off.

War Supplies are tight in this game and the automatic replacement options spends too much. With it off you can prioritize what you need as there is never really enough.

Re: Poll. To be or not to be hexed.

I'm hoping they stay with regions; I like the way the current Ageod system does Grand Strategy. If I could only have 1 game system Ageod would be my choice. So I hope they stay true to it. Although 'I voted for regions' there's nothing really wrong if they go to hexes as it does, imho, work better f...

This makes sense and is actually better than I thought .... grabbing a town and putting up a flag isn't enough; winning the hearts and minds is also important.

Thanks Durk...I appreciate your answer. Do you think I need loyalty to get full control or do you think it's lack of military units? I have 100% Military control but have no units there.

I thought once I got the flags I'd get credit on the objectives screen.

Since I had doubts about the old engine doing Wars of Napoleon I never purchased it. So my vote is for Wars of Napoleon 2.

Tough choice though because a new area like East Asia.... Rise of the Middle Kingdom or Sengoku Jidai would be my dream games.

Should I have control of these objectives?

Hi Leibst, (I'm playing as Royalist) I have 100% military control of Plymouth and Exeter and also control both towns, however, loyalty heavily favors Parliament. The Objective screen and the tool tip indicate I do not own them yet? Should I own them or do I need to raise loyalty? I have a 'save' if ...

Re: A Vietnam War game?

I think the Vietnam air-war would be a challenge for the Ageod system. Considering the lack of strategic Vietnam games; I'd love to see them try though. The Ho Chi Minh trail could be simulated the same way far east railroads in RUS bring in supplies. Events and regional decisions can handle a lot o...

Re: (BOR - Punic Wars) Roman Consuls Won't Fail Activation Rolls

I checked HAN scenario 3 second Punic war 219 and it looks like the bug may be there also. I ran 13 quick turns and no consul failed an activation. It may also effect 3 star leaders because Bagga and Syphas (Mauretania) also seem to be active. I did notice some lower rank leaders failing activations.

Re: Will the new engine significantly raise minimum pc specs?

My Ge-Force GTX 650 1GB ram is my concern; even current Ageod games are calling for 1 GB video ram.

(I have an additional shared 3 GB but I don't think that counts)

My other specs are not too bad but not really mid range anymore:

Windows 8.1
AMD 6300 six core 3.50 ghz
16 GB ram

Thanks Pocus
