New copy protection?

New copy protection?

Calvinus mentioned a new copy protection at the matrix forums. What does it do?

I ask because my computer was ravaged by SECUROM, and I am very concerned about this.

The siege freeze occurred only in 4-player mode, when both attacker and defender are managed by AI. Serbia scenario is only 2-player mode. So I believe here the cause is different. Please disable the UAC and play the game with PC Administrator priviledges, as this should prevent Windows from freezi...

Serbia scenario freeze

Hi,

I got to the siege screen after finally defeating Serbs at Belgrade. I resolved a siege, and then could not get out of the siege screen. the "go to next battle" button did nothing.

Only way to get out of the siege screen was to close the program through control alt delete.

That's because it's you then :) (the privilege of having registered since some time I mean!) I added an exported variable that you can tweak when the ROP patch will be official (just in a few days). inoBattleDelayCoeff = 4 This is the base value of the variable, if set higher, the delay will be big...

I already do that, it just goes by too fast. That is a shame, the ongoing commentary is really good.

Any chance that you would consider making the slowest speed slower, so we would have twice as long to read it?

That would really help.

Combat report during battle

I noticed that there is a running commentary in the message area during battles. I have found that this commentary really helps the sense of immersion, but there is a problem. The problem is that the commentary runs really fast(even on the longest delay) and I can't follow it as well as I would like...

Anybody playing Scourge of War: Gettysburg?

I just took a look at the SOW technical support forum. I counted about 17 separate threads about problems with the DRM, problems that are keeping customers who bought the game from playing it. Before you buy this game, you would be wise to read those threads to see what kind of DRM hell you could ge...

That's your perogative... However the usage of such DRMs WILL keep me from buying products laced with them and I'll continue to post it publicly so that they at least know that their usage of such stupid DRM schemes does in fact cost them sales from legitimate customers AND it has nothing to do wit...

I suspect so. In much the same way as strategy gamers are having to come to terms with titles being released in a less than acceptable condition. Just dip into any of the forums to witness the number of players that are indicating that they will no longer purchase new titles until they have been on...

Not me. According to their website, their DRM may require that your firewall and anti-virus protection be disabled while you are on the internet, during "activation". Since I have already had my computer taken over by a hacker, there is no way in heck that I will be unprotected while on the internet...

Redownloading previoously purchased games, who should I contact

I have been told by the Tech people that are assisting me that I cannot reinstall any files that were on that computer without risking a repeat of the corruption problem. ...

British Army Destroys itself in Winter

I am playing "A few acres of snow". It is fall, 1757. I have taken fort William Henry and Albany.A huge British army moves up to Mohawk camp, two areas south of Fort William Henry. I brace myself to defend Carillon. The British army is so large, that when I mouse over it, there is not enough room on...

WIA is trying to enter the trusted zone!

I just installed the latest WIA patch. Each time I start WIA, ZoneAlarm gives me the alert that "WIA is trying to enter the trusted zone". This is an attempt to access the internet. WIA did not do this until the patch was installed. Why is it trying to access the internet? Could this be a trojan? Pl...

From Tamas about AI mostly sticked with the medium (normal) settings, as thats the one supposed to be, well, normal. :D What I certainly recommend, is not using the "strictly turn based" gameplay mode against the AI, as its performance drops with that, both in terms of taking a longer time to compu...

This game is a masterpiece. It does need polishing, adjusting, and finishing. The documentation, especially, needs to be much better. If you stick to the 2 player game, it appears to be quite stable. The fault is with Amazon, not Ageod. Who but Ageod would make a game like this? Who but Ageod could make a game like this? The Grand Grand Campaign is indeed 1680 turns long. Yes it is much, too much, but the choice was still to have 15-days turn. The good news is that you will have several Grand Campaigns, each starting and ending at different dates, so you won't have to play the GGC if you prefer only a GC :) Also co...

Alas, even on the slowest setting the battle circle is much too fast. Could Ageod consider including an option to really slow down the display, so it might take 1 minute, which would make it much easier to follow. I also ask that Ageod consider adding some narrative along with the circle, which coul...

Hi Yes, there is. Look at the options menu. I can't remember the exact name now but it will be something pretty obvious like "battle display" or something like this. Can you slow down the battle circle ?

Gentlemen: Is there any way to slow down the speed at which the battle circle is displayed? My only real frustration with this system is that there is no ongoing display of the combat, so you can see the events of a battle as they take place. It seems that the battle circle was designed to provide a...
