That's a smart move Pocus, this lets us teach the AI a basic deep-thinking strategic capability based on realistic and historical strategies.

I understand your concerns but you should be a little more open-minded on the abstraction behind even such a detailed wargame such as AACW is. The fact a Corps is in a neighbouring region doesn't mean he's 20 km away, it means it could also be on the border between the 2 regions involved and arrive ...

Use them to do the blockade directly on port and u will cause serious damage to the other side. Check blockade factors in each zone adjacent to the port and see how many elements you need. Once u blockade it, that port will produce no supplies.

What matters is to damage or sink the ships and the ROE settings help to withdraw in case of failure. Send the ship(s) back to repair and then try again. Even just damaging the enemy ships might force the AI or opponent to send the ship back to repairs, which translates in loss of EP for the british.

U don't lose the war if you lose a general even if you lose Grant or Lee (i play small randomization so it's not a a perfect statement), but surely i have for example never been able to promote a 2** to 3*** due to lack of experience on the field. If you lose a 3*** but can promote a 2** to three, t...

Provided removal and comeback are both visible in the log, the solution stands, but in case you want to consider illness as reason for death coupled with inability to really kill 3*** generals, the comeback date of 2125 seems good enough to me as an alternate solution :)

It's WAD bc it's how basically most boards are programmed and in most circumstances it's working good. I think we're looking for the needle in the straw, the system is perfectly balanced even as it is. I mean, we really are pushing it towards the total perfection but it's already ok. All of this for...

I know having to say Yes-no to all rep changes is a pain, so i think that probably Nikel's statement is the best management-wise. This only leaves the rep system in the hands of the team and makes it very reliable. The only tradeoff is that community is stripped off this function...my view is use by...

No korrigan the job of the admin would not be to judge on the motivation but to judge whether the submitted motivation would be appropriate with the posts. I.E. u don't have to agree/disagree (this is judgement on "merit") you'd only have to validate (judgement on "legitimacy"). It is essentially li...

Maybe the rep. system should only allow changes if motivation is added and only if the admin of the boards validates it (so he can make sure the motivation is applicable)....in that case it would be very reliable.

I saw in AACW as CSA that building forts would be a key to defense. The issue comes with the fact that the fortification is built when you build it but, contextually to the disappearing of guns and supply wagons, the fort doesn't come autoequipped with fort batteries. Which means, if i build a fort ...

It does indeed allow you a wide variety of tactics...take a look at the Grand Campaign thread and the AARs.

Again: The most important thing to remember with deployment is that the target region must be at least with 25% Military Control for the redeployment order to succeed.

Perhaps i am mistaken but if ships are parked in the harbor they don't participate to the fight even if they appear in the battle report screen. In other words they are just sitting there. The same is with gunboats whose support is limited to the amphibious invasions and don't participate to ground ...
